Surprised it lasted as long as it did. They just barely broke what they expect to have sold by 2013(they had hoped for ~10mil I think and didn't really hit that number until maybe 2016?). I think they loved it pretty well to keep it going as long as it did with the sales it was putting out.

It was definitely a cool system, always wanted one. I think one of the biggest selling points was the games, aside from the titty games they had some unique titles.

If I remember correctly though the first few years of its release it was pretty pricey though so that probably hurt it pretty bad?

Benefit of vita is psn store and ps1 classics looking amazing on a small screen. My hacked PSP already does that though. Plus smartphones
