I'd try to expand beyond an SE MMORPG if you're thinking of switching. I never realised how bad their game models were until I properly played others. WoW, Rift, SW:ToR (coming soonish), etc - ignore the stigma that games may have built up and try them. You may never look back.

SW:ToR looks amazing and i can't wait to try it on.
I enjoyed LOTRO a lot. I still get random urges to load it up and play, but I usually get sidetracked by something else.

I feel so lonely here at college ; ;
I'm totally swamped with homework (I guess I'm working myself too hard) and there's a social event tonight (open to everyone), and nobody cares that I can't come. This guy came into the room, with a group of people on my floor, asked my roommate if he wanted to go with me right there, and they all left.
My girlfriend is halfway across the country at another college, and there's the constant fear that she'll leave me for someone over there.
There are people I can -talk- to, but I don't think I would consider them "friends".

Like was said above. It'll be alright. Try talking to those people some more. May end up building a friendship that helps you get through it. I know I would have gone crazy had I not had great friends when I was 4,500 miles from home at school. As for the GF issue don't dwell over the fear, it'll consume you if so.
