frankly , the slow paced - sluggish - delayed mechanics annoy me even more than dying 20 times to a boss learning it's tricks.
same reason I dont fully enjoy the Monster Hunter Series. Kali opinion
I agree on the pace, to a point obviously.
In my opinion the speed at which you move is made up for reacting and paying attention to the enemy (something a viewer doesn't really get to experience very well without feeling the game play for themselves). You're using your brain resources on more than just navigation and moving, you're also including other mechanics, move sets, whether to dodge or block, etc.
I'm not trying to say you're wrong :o I do agree with you that it's slower, but it's slower for a reason and I personally love that reason <3 I want the enemy to have a chance against me, and if I mess up I want the enemy to take advantage of that opportunity and punish for it. If I'm lucky enough to still avoid the attack after making a mistake that makes it so exciting for me, I get that from no other game.
Also Josi is right, Bloodborne mixed up the formula a lot and allowed a much faster pace of playing which was really exciting to me. They even pulled it off so well that the enemies were even more challenging and aggressive, and that carried on through to Dark Souls III to a point.
Not everyone is going to like the formula, but for those of us who love the games we appreciate that it exists :) and that it's inspiring other games, especially indie games. Agreed. I like Dark Souls (started with Demon's Souls), but Bloodborne was a breath of fresh air, and its combat is the most enjoyable. I liked how FromSoft puy a wooden shield as a joke item, its description included: " Shields are nice, but not if they engender passivity". A joke!? Lobos would disagree! It only took 7 hours... :X

I kindof want to event a way to live in a dream.
Kindof like the reverse of the storyline of FFX.

It only took 7 hours... :X Besides the fact that the crazy ***Lobos does won't change a joke item's status, it's still a pacifist community run. He still dodges, and lets phantoms take care of bosses. That shield is probably just for show.
If you want someone who tried to find actual use for it, ENB is your guy. He tried using it against Rom, since he couldn't reliably dodge its long-range homing projectile attack (40% Arcane block).
