Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?

Gambling doesn't directly effect anyone other than yourself (and your loved ones if it's that bad). Still a very unhealthy habit, but your gambling doesn't effect me, even if I'm physically present. Being Canadian is also considered (by some) to be a very unhealthy habit. YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Union guy said take the resignation deal. The thing that put me off, was he said it would qualify me still for UI... and that he would verify with the company to make sure... not with the Department of Labor... so I contacted them myself.
Contacted the Department of Labor, they said NO DEAL. If I were to quit for ANY reason, if the company decides to contest my claim they will win. If I am terminated for performance (current reason I have been given), they have no grounds to challenge it. Going to go with Department of Labor on this one. What did u do Grumpy?"!

It comes down to needing unemployment benefits vs. preserving your ability to say you weren't fired for performance factors while applying for new positions, really.

Yeah, and the Department of Labor pointed out, what if they ask why I resigned? "I resigned in lieu of termination" doesn't sound a lot better than I was terminated. Candlejack said: » No one. He mentioned not a whole lot of other unhealthy habits negatively impact others, I named one that can to show he's wrong. He's not wrong. Smoking around other people is damaging to them even if you've decided it's worth the associated detriments to yourself. That's really not a contestable thing. It's scientific fact. Second hand smoke is bad. That aside, as long as you don't do it around people who don't want you to do it around them, I really don't give a ***if you smoke, eat 20 pizzas at once, take a piss, or go fishing. I'll have a cigar on rare occasion myself. But I'm not going to pretend it's somehow a healthy or benign habit. Not advocating one or the other, nor subsequent details. Just stating the benefits of both options. Though there are a lot of more positive-sounding ways to play off of that without saying "I quit before they could fire me." Sylph.Shadowlina said: » What did u do Grumpy?"! I'm worried that he logged into ffxiah while at work and they read all of our posts.... or they found the "two mithra one unicorn" folder I'm 89% certain I never accidentally opened a link Seha or Ohji sent me while on a work computer.
