It's just very annoying. I think the constant hostility is bad for the community but trying to calm things down would require certain people simply be removed for causing issues day after day but that wouldn't be fair and would seem like bias and I doubt Rooks would approve. Personally, I hate the Fox News-esque misinformation, skewing of facts, and conspiracy crap from both sides that happens in there but I'm only one opinion on that front. It's not really hard, just a dilemma.

Watching The First 48, as I often do, and they find a gun similar to what I'm looking to get soon at the scene of a murder.

So I start to wonder what exactly happens to murder weapons? I know they are collected, analyzed, entered into evidence, held and presented throughout the trial that follows and, I believe, held for a period of up to like 5 years but what then? Is it returned to a rightful owner in the case it was stolen? Otherwise is it destroyed? Sold to make the department some money? Sold or perhaps given to an officer that shows interest in it?

On the case that the weapon is an antique, could it be donated to a museum? I know that Timothy McVeigh's pistol is on display at the OKC Memorial museum along with his car but he killed with a fertilizer bomb, not a gun.

So...wtf do they do with them?

I think the better question is, why did you murder that person?

From some of the practices that I'm aware of, the period of holding can vary from state to state, and country to country. Evidence can be held indefinitely. Depending on whether or not that station is as corrupt as ***. Once a case has been settled, and there is no new evidence or appeals, or has a huge effect on history as a whole, it can be donated to a museum. (Or an unofficial replica is made in it's place, so that it isn't the actual weapon on display)

Collected assets, however, can be sold off at police auctions.

Well, that's usually figured out at some point. I have no interest in shooting anything I can't eat unless it's paper targets, steel targets, or bottles or cans. I'm more of a sport shooter than a "I need 17 rounds because they are coming to get me!" shooter.

Another episode, they find a wad of cash. What happens there?

In the OKC museum the gun (and a Ka-Bar knife) are on display. I saw knives at the county police auction, but I don't recall if there were guns aside from air rifles.

EDIT: My point, since I never got to it, was that the gun was real.

I think it has to be determined as evidence or as collected assets.

My point being, that collected assets, which are items recovered, that aren't being used as evidence, can be sold or used for the station, depending on state/federal provisions, but there should also be a minimum holding time, and background checks in case some items are stolen.

Although I'm pretty sure Voren would know more about this than anyone in RT.

Really hate people sometimes.

Playing FFXIV with my good friend Dameion, we decide we're gonna make Ravana Burn party for farming Esos as well as Bird mounts.

It's slow to start, but it gets under way, and is going smoothly. I'm playing WHM, because screw waiting for one. I'm a pretty good healer; really I excel at just about everything in XIV because I play the game too much.

We're like 15 runs in, and people start having to leave, so I start cycling people etc. Some dude wins lot on bird on his last run, but stays for two more, then leaves. This super awesome monk decides to leave then too. We lost two of our heaviest hitters, so we're in sore need of some good DPS, because the remaining DPS are mediocre but good enough to get the job done.

This guy starts caterwauling, "Hey, invite my friends. Chuckle *** and So-and-so. We can keep going, I only need 6 more for my bird!"

And I should have broken the party when the monk left, because it was time for me to walk my dogs, but my dogs are good dogs and don't mind really waiting a little extra for their nightly walk, so I put it off since the reps are instant. The guy tells me, "So-and-so is coming as DPS WAR, is that ok?" And I was like, "Yeah sure." Cause good WAR is good in Ravana burns cause of the burn phases and Fell Cleave spikes. Well they get in the party, we queue in, before I can even get protect off, the new WAR pulls. It's a little irritating, but whatever, I put up Medica II, Regen, Asylum, and go into DPSing. Fight goes decently, except DPS is so slow the butterflies turned into swords and we get 5 stacks of vulnerability up. The new WAR had decided to MT, and never leave tank stance, which he didn't need to be in tank stance after he established hate for any reason. Well, we pull the win out of our ***, making it seem to the average observer that nothing had really changed. Except I was out of MP at the end, 2 people were dead, and 4 others were nearly dead.

The thing about Ravana burns, is you are supposed to burn past all the stuff that makes solo healing it problematic. You're supposed to beat him down mercilessly, such that there isn't much to heal.

Next run, the WAR pulls super fast again. I do my normal thing, except I swiftcast the Medica II, because I want to get into DPSing. As a WHM I am out DPSing the Ninja, the new WAR, the new BLM, and not really that far behind this other chuckle *** WAR that decided he was gonna start goofing off every run. Well, my mistake, the new WAR who full times Defiance didn't use Unchained, so he lost hate to the cast of my medica II, and I got blinding blade for 21k. So they had to wipe. Instantly his friends are trying to play it up like it's totally my fault. Like sure, I could have waited to put up regens on him, or put a regen on him and done some curing, but when Dameion had tanked before, Dameion had never even come close to losing hate from me. On top of that, after the initial hate combo, Dameion switched into Deliverance and tanked the rest of the fight in DPS mode. Which is what this dude advertised his friends as. So I ignore their stupid comments about how I'm, "Breaking the cardinal rule of WHMs." cause obviously, none of them play WHM at a raiding level/extreme level. We go into the fight, the goof off WAR stops DPSing and starts standing in fire puddles and taking triple stack AOEs, so I let him die and stay dead. The fight progresses, and the Ninja kills himself. So I let him stay dead too, more from lack of MP than choice. So of course, we get 6 stacks of Vuln up from Bloody Fuller, and then the fight becomes nightmarish to heal. We wind up wiping at like 10% because I just can't keep people alive through all of the ***, cause the other thing about Ravana burns is, is that most people have forgotten the mechanics, since you skip them all, so when the burn doesn't work, you basically have to fall back on the healer. The burn didn't work, and I couldn't out heal 6 stacks of Vuln up on everyone.

The BLM LB2ed Ravana to try to push phase, though the phase was already pushed, Dameion was a bit slow, he said, "Don't waste the LB on caster LB." So the guy who got us into this mess with his friends says, "Well then don't die :P" And Dameion just, no hesitation goes, "I don't like you, so I'm gonna go." And he leaves, so I break the party.

Biggest waste of time, and pisses me off, cause I chose to try and be nice to a stranger and neglected my dog. Stranger instantly turned into a lying ***. Literally soured my entire evening.

Final Fantasy XV Reportedly Delayed To November~

The news of this apparent delay was first reported last night by the website Gamnesia, citing sources at GameStop. A separate GameStop sourced that Square has indeed briefed some people at the corporate level about the new November 29 release date.

I see it as Proth stating that it's probably going to happen due to his friend who has an idea about this kind of thing and you then confirmed it officially. So, you're right on time!

Today (SAT): 4:30 AM - 9:30 AM, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Tomorrow (SUN): 5:05 AM - 10:00 AM

Don't worry, I have 8 hours in between each, so it's fine!

falls on the floor trying to sleep as I type this

I got 3 hours of sleep in between the two shifts today, and lucky tomorrow it's only a half'ish day, so not too bad, but I sure am not use to doing that to myself. My body is wide awake atm, and I can't let myself stay up, or I will regret it.

I have monday / tue off, so really, it isn't so bad, just annoying. The hard part is me being at work ready to work in 6 1/2 hours. YAY
