Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Only a few hours left... Gonna need to develop some self-restraint soon or I'm gonna end up blowing all my stones trying to get the new Bardock and Goku. @_@;

Dude is mad! You're a moron!
Anna Ruthven said: » So... Reading FFwiki and I end up reading about Edea Kramer and something reminded me of something I don't ever remember being explained. Edea has a near-death experience which triggers her giving her powers to Rinoa without knowing it, not knowing, she joins the party to see if Dr. Odine could seal or remove her power but while she's in party she is capable of attacking with what I assume are energy pulses and still has her limit break which is under a command called Sorcery. Is this ever fully explained? She uses power in battle that she has already given up. i'm pretty sure rinoa got her powers from adel? i'm pretty sure anything powers prior to that were just ultimecia possesing her? *re-edit* rinoa had no other sorc powers from anything other than edea and being possessed. It was a Canadian tiger--it was just trying to get the hat for her, but couldn't open the gate and paced back-and-forth in frustration. ;_; That whole thing was pretty HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE YouTube Video Placeholder Upon the first few seconds, take a deep breath, and clear your mind of all thoughts. Exhale on the first few notes...exhale and look at that scene. The lime-colored grass. The endless blue sky. A world full of possibilities and discoveries, a world full of adventure. The plains we now gaze upon smell of fresh, wild grass and lilac. You grip the handle which you use to fight in this world and forget for a moment that the A button has to be pressed, but you do it out of the corner of your subconsciousness. And there, the adventure begins anew. Only now do you realize that you sat at the title screen for half an hour, and that this game is bigger than it seems. That was my first experience with this song. I always start a game off by taking a deep breath on the opening page and letting the theme music soak in for a little while. It's like opening a new book with a story yet untold. and upon gazing on that title screen I felt an odd sense of peace and life around me. I could listen to this all day long. On a long grassy plain, with broken mechon and armor everywhere, with the gentle breeze blowing on my face, and knowing that I have the Monado by my side. Sitting, listening, looking around with thoughts going through my hmind of what the future may hold for me. It doesn't matter if I have the power of the Monado in my hand, what matters is the future that I have, you have, and everyone in the world has. Because the future... It's up to you. Bismarck.Dracondria said: » That whole thing was pretty HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE Glad I'm not the only one that found FFVIII's story to be a total mess. There were many parts I liked about it, but the whole thing felt like a giant convoluted McGuffin. Disc 1 was great
Disc 2-3 were kinda welll... alright I guess 4 was what the *** is going on I kinda hoped it would be mostly about the Garden institutions waging war on each other and the corruption of those who pull the strings behind the institutions (NORG), but then it went onto the whole sorceress nonsense without having a very concise method of bringing it all together in a coherent manner.
But to be fair, it's been a LONG time since I've completed VIII, so I might need to give it another go and possibly take some footnotes. I liked the world and combat in it (though junctioning was too easy) but the story was the weak point for me
Characters too, Selphie/Rinoa were annoying and Squall was kind of a *** lol Fine later on but not very good at the start lol TRAINS Bismarck.Dracondria said: » That whole thing was pretty HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE Either way it was a mess
I'm glad 9 turned out better, much easier to understand the story in that Bismarck.Dracondria said: » Either way it was a mess I'm glad 9 turned out better, much easier to understand the story in that I need to play more of it on Steam, but FFXI is taking up my time now! Wasn't expecting to resubscribe lol I definitely need to replace the music/audio files for FFVIII on steam. MIDI files is just inexcusable; and I'm mad SE fixed VII but not VIII.
the world of viii was pretty g8. especially playing it as a teenager. i wish i could to use gunblades and go to mercenary school ._.

Not to mention the contemporary methods of transportation. Having trains, cars, airships and chocobos all together was super rad. I would have used chocobos more if the game had some minigame that helped on the overworld
well... you rented the car, you bought gas. was just so cool how in depth they went. even later in the game you can go to train stations and ride them. plus the ability to refine stuff was so awesome. no wasted items. for someone who is saving every potion, elixir, and whatever else for some fight i'll 'really' need it which never comes.
Refining and learning GF skills was kinda fun, made you seek out different kinds of monsters to get drops

I think VI had a playable flashback but not to the same effect as the Laguna sequences. Quote: The French version of Final Fantasy VIII contains errors, at times referring to Adel as "he". Quote: Prior to Adel, sorceresses seem to have an innate element or magic type they specialize in; in Edea's case it's ice, in Rinoa's case it is healing and resurrection, and in Ultimecia's case it's time and space. Adel does not have an obvious magic affinity; however, due to casting many non-elemental spells, Adel may simply be affiliated with Energy and non-elemental spells in general. Adel also means nobility in Swedish (also Dutch, German, Danish, Norwegian) FFVIII spawned a lot of theories like the one stating that everything after Disc 1 is Squall dreaming as he is dying or the theory that Ultimecia is Rinoa in the future.
If you really look at it though, FFVIII's story is in a loop and it happens for no reason. Yomisha said: » ... Just like IRL?
