The lore is one of my favorite things about the games. So neat to piece together the NPC's stories as you play.

Why not just set up an extra PC with freenas or something? Are you just using it as a media sharing device? You may want to invest in faster drives for higher resolutions (also to not use wireless, etc).

Why would you necessarily be transcoding anyway? To like a PS3 or something?

I like the idea of a low power dedicated device I can easily move and setup with HDMI out running a slimmed down version of linux with nice features.

Well those wouldn't have I didn't see that they had an output feature of their own, hmm. An alternative would be a micro-atx case or something then you would have more options.

But that with something like WD Reds should suffice.
