Have you watched Narcos? It's about Pablo Escobar. Not sure if it isn't your cup of tea though.

Also everyone keeps talking about how awesome Daredevil is that I'll probably just cave in and watch it, despite me never being into Marvel/DC superhero stuff (I never even watched Heroes).

There's a channel called China Uncensored that's pretty good, explains a lot of political issues and beliefs and talks about politicians there

It's 3 years in Italy +2 of master(save for law, pharmacy and architecture which are 5 with no need for master and medicine which is 6+god help you).
But this year is probably out of the question for going abroad because I will probably move at the end of the semester, and I don't even know yet where I'll end up living.
