i'm a tech support supervisor for verizon. anytime one of my reps handles a warranty claim for a customer it gets tracked if there was an issue or no trouble was found. if no trouble was found i have to go through and review it. sd cards break everything.

Only issue I've had with Verizon is that they once turned my service off three days before they were supposed to. Aside from them calling 6-7 times a day, texting 2-3 times a day, and emailing me every day when my payment is due. You'll get your money the day before you shut me off, chill the *** out.

...which is probably a good case for the Nexus 5X; it's unlocked so if I decide I'm tired of that ***I could just switch. I actually have a lot of Verizon's numbers blocked on Mr. Number.

My issue with Verizon is my limited data now costs me more than my unlimited data used to and it pisses me the *** off that I couldn't even keep my old plan by buying my own phone at full price. They wouldn't throw me any kind of bone whatsoever and they've basically got a monopoly on service where I need my phone or I'd have dumped them on the spot.

you could of kept the plan by buying it outright. i have to deal with that escalation all the time. you only had to lose unlimited if you wanted your phone discounted.

this isn't lolpeople. it's a component that is prone to causing problems and makes the phones more expensive. nothing is causing this other than these people having an sd card.

Anecdotal, but throughout every single device I've used that has an sd slot, I've yet to ever have problems with them. I'm still convinced the reason they're being phased out of use is for the sake of marking up their own internal memory since it's one of those popcorn at the movie theatres kinda thing. You aren't going anywhere, so you don't have a choice. But it's a little of column A and a little from column B to help solidify their "intended experience".

I was told they were dropping unlimited data entirely* and you had to opt in or gtfo. Was I lied to?

*Not that they hadn't already started throttling unlimited people who went over an arbitrary limit anyhow.

That feeling of anger, when you spend 1 hour drawing an amazing background. To then start adding the wire Guidelines to then draw a character.... Then Boom draw it All over the original background layer, and have already started to do the work on the acctual character (on a difrently layer) and so now cant undo it.

*Not that they hadn't already started throttling unlimited people who went over an arbitrary limit anyhow.


we never throttled, we only rerouted the top 3-5% of 3g data users. 4g handles congestion much better and doesn't require anything like that. there was the guy who said we were looking at it and we clarified we weren't cause ya know. bad pr and illegal.

for verizon wireless if you have an unlimited plan you only have to change when you do a two year upgrade. even now you can do the device payment plan, but you don't get a discount back. the only only thing that will make it change is if you upgrade at a discount. i've done it myself a few times. i still have my unlimited data.

newer samsung devices have a theme feature. so you can customize it and get an ios look if you like.

Hmm. Was told otherwise. Oh well. Outside of a few months we've been okay. Though it still doesn't explain why my bill has gone up for what is literally less data.

I'd still drop Verizon in a hot minute if they had better service back in my home area.

I have an exceptional distaste for groups that are too big to worry about treating their customers well. And Verizon treats its customers -- and at least some of its workers -- like hot garbage. And the more successful they've become, the worse it's become.

I work with someone who used to work for Verizon in customer service. She says that 20 years ago it was an amazing place to work. When she left a few years ago it had been gradually going to -- and had finally become -- utter ***. Dunno how that meshes with your own experience.

Sadly, they also apparently have the back and open apps button backwards and I'm OCD. I also like on-screen buttons rather than physical. Speaking of OCD, I'm wondering if there's an option to change the app rows to 4 in a row instead of 5 in a row on Nexus 5X so I wouldn't have to change where my apps are on screen... >.>
