I often see people complaining about how school teaches none of the such and thought that I was just lucky to be in one that did, but then I see people that not only went to the same school but sat right next to me though the classes making the same claim. We had a mandatory course that covered basic politic stuff like how to vote and what the parties were about + basically "How to get a job", and bank stuff was covered in math class. I've just always wondered if it's universally a case of people didn't want to listen when they were told math would be important in their life or if that just applies to people I went to school with and it's actually lacking elsewhere. Edit: like I'm pretty sure I first learned about voting and how it works in grade 2, we had little class room elections with ballots that looked similar to real ones. If not grade 2 then grade 5... I just remember the room We're not taught about mortgages and bank stuff but the rest, sure.
Voting here is so simple even a kid can do it though Offline

My high school offered a "Career and Life Management" Class, often called C.A.L.M. Class.
Part of our assignments included actually researching places to rent, buy, mortgage, etc., banking, and how to write a resume. And how to kiss someone's *** so they don't fire you for sexually harassing that cute co-worker with the ginormous boobs and the t-shirts small enough to be sold at Baby Gap, while simultaneously bitching it's a hostile work environment if no one gives the *** a compliment on how nice her *** look. Plus advanced Sex Ed. Offline

My Calm class teacher's version of advanced sex Ed was basically just yelling out "PENIS!" and "VAGINA" until it no longer made the class giggle. After about two 45 minute classes, it worked. Then we had to study from a big freaking text book about STD's, STI's, and the such.
Pretty sure it scared a few kids into leaving the class and never having sex. Our sex ed was "dont have sex now look at all these STDs until your traumatized".
I live in a very red state. Its okay tho 2d girls cant get STDs
