So i'm forcing myself to play through FF7 because you know... I never did (cause I got so bored of it so quick...) and ...

it still sucks to me :x I just can't get into the story at all, I can see why they have to remake it lol, it's so terrible :x

Well to be honest, it only gets more ridiculous and convoluted the further you get into it. But make no mistake: the remake is going to be absolutely nothing like the original title. Squeenix has made that abundantly clear.
So I personally think they're mutually exclusive enough to where you aren't going to miss out terribly for enjoying or playing one over the other.

That's pretty awful; but only if she was the instigator with the prompted question. Answering some pubescent questions from an inquisitive and curious child would make this a lot more permissible.

Did you ever play 9? If you didn't I will murder you. Go play that instead. Even if you did play it before.

It might be nostalgia but to me SE's older games are way better than most of the crap they put out today.
I can't be the only one that thinks VII aged more poorly than even some of the older titles in the franchise. Though that comes with the territory of breaking new ground in technology on a brand new platform. Some things just don't carry over well by today's standards. Which is why it's probably a good thing the remake will be a totally different creature rather than a HQ FFVII clone.Its aged horribly. Box people! But I guess that's part of the charm too. Even though my first time I played it I thought it looked stupid the end of the Shinra HQ area still creeped me out.
The HD release worries me but I will reserve my thoughts until I see more. Worried Lightning will be shoved in it as well judging by her dumb louis vutton interview

If they shoehorn Lightning into another game she doesn't belong in; especially this one, it will be the final nail in the coffin for my faith in Square-Enix to do anything sensible.

Though I think many faults of VII were simply matters that come with the territory for the position and time it was made in more so than bad writing or planning.

is still better than a lot of new games. It's not just nostalgia.
