That DnD group has a lot of problems for a SUPER NERD like me lol.
The DM shows obvious favoritism to the Bard person because they boink on the side. She should have died a bajillion times but instead of letting me save spell slots for the useful team members and having her re-roll he forced me to heal her. One time we were even spent on spell slots and he let her roll death saves with advantage for some made up BS reason.
We never did crits correctly for some crazy reason. He just tacks on a 1d4 on a crit instead.
The way he handles checks was just... it can't be right. I know the skills are there to do checks but it was like Perception checks for EVERYTHING. Looking for loot on a corpse? PERCEPTION CHECK. Found something, what is it? PERCEPTION CHECK #2! Is it worth anything? PERCEPTION CHECK #3!!!
We never had a surprise round, no matter how often we stealthed up to enemies or tried to ambush.
I dunno, it was bad for a lot of reasons but mostly the bard and her affect on the DM. I would have been a much better DM because I wasn't sleeping with any of the players for one, and for two I understand the game mechanics better.

Sleep with ALL of the players.
That way their death is that much sweeter.

Both actually. But I also got discouraged when I was little, and no one was there to insist and help me learn.

/gets you training wheels
One day, when I was I think 16 my dad tried to teach me how to ride a scooter so he took me to this secluded place in the woods so I couldn't kill anyone(or myself) and spent about one hour trying. It was a complete failure; my best was when I made the scooter rear up leaving us standing there while it went on by itself on one wheel for a couple of meters before flopping down much to my dad's discontent.
We never went back after that day though. He was probably afraid I'd destroy the scooter.
I'm a bit sad I never learned cause my dad himself is a biker, he's traveled all of Europe on his motorcycle, and grew up admiring his passion for it and wishing I could ride those cool bikes too eventually.
Ah well.

Where I live there are more moped than inhabitants lol.
Not gonna lie, I only know about Vespa's and Guitars because of the anime FLCL.

Mopeds/scooters are popular here with teenagers when they're 15ish up to about 18, after that most people go into the city more and it takes too long without taking the train
Most people don't drive until 20+ and only if they're going far away since we have trains and buses everywhere in the city (or just walk).
Don't see Vespas really, most people use the class 1 mopeds (the 45 km/h type, some make them go 100+ lol)
