If I pulled an old viking sword out of the ground, I probably would sh!t myself then probably see if I can preserve it. Ok..Ok.. don't get me wrong on this one, BUT..I was talking with friends and I mentioned what things did people get buried with and if it's still there. In the states, we had a whole generation of gunslingers, there's probably old west guns buried AND IN MARKED graves.... But, I know this is seriously Taboo, but think of the things we would find... You can find viking stuff here, there's a lot of old runestones in Stockholm too Digging up swords and stuff is more in the countryside though but I think you can find stuff where my uncle lives. Not sure on the rules for digging and ownership They found some old bomb here, police took care of it

There's whole websites on WWII finds, while to me, it was one of the more fascinating war times (probably one of the few that didn't get sick by WWII FPS games) and it was so large you probably can find more relics than you can find Civil War relics. Despite liking WWII stuff, I have this thing about owning anything with a swastika on it, it makes me uncomfortable knowing what it stood for. Which sucks because the Germans had some of the coolest knife and dagger designs during WWII.
This runestone was close to my school
Quote: Andvéttr and Gerðarr had these runes carved in memory of Sveinn, their father; and Ketilvé in memory of her husbandman. Quote: This inscription consists of runic text in the younger futhark carved on an intertwined serpent and a Christian cross near the top of the design. The inscription is carved into a rock-face and is 3.5 meters high by 1.5 meters wide. The inscription is classified as being carved in runestone style Pr4, which is also known as Urnes style. This runestone style is characterized by slim and stylized animals that are interwoven into tight patterns. The animal heads are typically seen in profile with slender almond-shaped eyes and upwardly curled appendages on the noses and the necks. Although unsigned, the inscription for stylistic reasons has been attributed to either the runemaster Fot or to his son Torgöt Fotsarve. Fot was active in southern Uppland during the middle of the 11th century. The runic text states that the inscription is a memorial to a man named Sveinn that was raised by his sons Andvéttr and Gerðarr and by his wife Ketilvé. The inscription is known locally as the Sundbyhällen. There's another one close to it but it's incomplete
There were runes in sandstone at my elementary school that some believed were left by Lief Ericson but I was never too sure about that. I don't believe it.
There's almost 1500 just in Uppland (marked area) Schizm Gallantry said: » LOL, I know one of my friends hates talking to me about ideas. There's always that unsettling laugh or a long pause after we talk. I have no basis or research on this matter, BUT my friend was talking about me sorting out my older pennies and told me that it's illegal to melt down older copper pennies. I told him that maybe the US mint wants the copper pennies to be taken out of circulation for them. You see, you raise the penny to 1.5 value and say it's copper while you tell people you don't want to them to hold or melt those pennies. You then tell the copper industry not to buy into the raise and stay low on buying copper. With removing the copper pennies, you are able to melt down the zinc pennies with a minimal loss on copper due to toss slag during the melting process. While doing that, you can create zinc pennies from melted stock or turn them into products to protect metal like in utilities and boats/vessels. My friend said, "***, but it does make sense." :/ He hung up without saying bye.... Watch this, it's about pennies YouTube Video Placeholder |
