Having dealt with a family member who had a serious illness that then became terminal, I'm not sure if I can adequately describe how it feels when you're first told about it.

When my mom was diagnosed with cancer I overheard her discussing it with my dad so I knew about it for a while before they decided to tell my sister and I

Not the most fun thing to hear when you're about to go down the stairs for something to eat

I feel like I am always behind.

Between everything I put my time into, and then FFXI. It is like there is nothing left to learn about stuffs.

I don't even have time for XI anymore, too busy living to live.

I don't really like TotalBiscuit, but it must suck getting a CT scan saying you have inoperable liver cancer after getting clear of bowel cancer completely.

Facing your mortality at 31 must be pretty hard.

Just read his tweet about this. Can't imagine how it must feel for him or his family to beat an illness and then be struck down by one that's even worse. Having dealt with a family member who had a serious illness that then became terminal, I'm not sure if I can adequately describe how it feels when you're first told about it.

I wish him and his family the best, especially his wife and young child. There is no consolation for this, but I hope he manages to make what time he has left count as best he can.
Did he state that it was a new cancer? It's likely to be a metastasis that wasn't detectable by imaging when they staged his colon cancer. Especially that, iirc, his neoplasm has been a symptomatic for a while.

It doesn't change the outcome to know this, I know, but it makes less shocking. This is something every cancer patient is afraid of: the appearance of mets that weren't detected years back after they've responded to therapy and started moving on with their lives again. This happened recently to a colleague of mine, she had a very nasty form of breast cancer, no detectable mets, underwent surgery and chemo, then after 2 years, mets had grown enough to cause trouble, she deteriorated quickly and passed away a couple of months. Was a pretty tough ordeal for her small family.

Annnnd?
and what?

Really what it boils down to is that I used to be able to relax a bit at work or even while working (as I enjoyed what I was doing), currently work is just stressful, the travel is stressful so the time at home I spend winding down, and can't really focus on anything, not to mention that I don't really have any space where I'm at currently, here in a few months I should be able to have my desk again, so that's a plus.

The best I've felt in a few months was about 9pm on Sunday after I spent all weekend doing jack ***and barely around anyone. I'm an introvert, and I don't get much time to myself, I need more of it.

don't know the exact specifics as to how it's in his liver, but... well, it's definitely in his blood now.

also, there were other factors leading up to it, but the prognosis of terminal cancer has caused him to disband Axiom esports.
