And yes I'll be starting student teaching in January and it lasts a college semester, so 15 weeks for here. Currently in the annoying process of readying everything for my application: background check, TB test, renewed CPR training, studying for praxis test etc. Seriously crazy to think I only have a year left til I'm licensed.
CPR training? I never had to do that... Wow, what does that say about the policy for Arizona's educators? I need to get the *** out of this state.
Get ready for your first year solo, sir. Mine was an absolute doozy. Made me want to leave the profession. Hopefully yours will be much better. You know it's bad when your Freshman class is your saving grace.

The worst part about being a teacher isn't the students.
It's not even the damned corrupted school politics. (This no child left behind ***is ridiculous because you can't give the little *** a 0 for refusing to turn in his homework)
It's the bloody parents who believe their child can do no wrong. That their child can't possibly be slow at learning, or have a learning disability because his or her parents discouraged any kind of mental stimulation at home aside from watching hours upon hours of recorded Day Time TV in the evening! (dramatization, obviously), or have an attitude of sheer entitlement that because they are paying for an education, their child should automatically get an A.

Up here in Alberta, the education system has to give you at least a 50% passing grade (well, so far as Edmonton is concerned anyways), just for showing up, and having a pulse.

And yea, I'm both excited and terrified of the coming "storm," kinda weird, wanna teach, but I just love the peace and quiet of doing nothing productive in a dark room >_> oh the curse of adulthood!

Also, I always thought missionary work was supposed to be done in countries with people who are disadvantaged and need some form of actual help. Instead, they're going to a country where most people probably live better than they do.
