I'm always a little sad when games go away, even if they're ones I didn't play. Almost every game has fans who love it, and developers who dreamed it and got to make it real, for a time. So it always just kinda bums me out when they go away, is all.

It just kinda sucks :\

I mean, we can play any game we want during or before PS2, but now that so many games are starting to have a focus on online game play, that online element will eventually end for all of these games, essentially breaking them so players 10 years from now can't play them again having the same experience.

Really wish the #1 focus for developing a game would be the core game, with online game play being an addition to the game, and not the game itself. Oh well.

By how everyone was talking, I thought FFXI was ending but guess it's only console support.

When FFXI officially closes it's doors, it's going to feel real eerie.
Good thing there are private servers.

Granted, the only one I've tried so far was rather glitchy.

Give private servers some time to develop. By the time SE should ever officially stop running the game, private servers will be pretty huge.
