I am still confused about why so many people do the Sega Genesis/MegaDrive conversion to Jamma. While it's pretty easy to do and seems to work without any major hitches, I don't know if I can use up space for a Genesis Arcade Cabinet.

SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis have a design problem with the RGB video output.
If your monitor puts load on the sync line (European TVs for example have a 75ohm pull down on the sync for impedance matching) the whole thing will fail and you will get crappy out of sync video.
So, not that easy in the end.
