Has it started to flood in Manitoba yet? It always amuses me greatly how people complain about the flooding, like it's something new that doesn't happen every year in the spring.

This. It's a browser game on DMM that was created a couple years ago that spun off into the manga and then anime.
It's very addicting and has a surprising amount of depth to it.

I'm stuck on T4 Det materias for my spharai, but fortunately only going to 32 crit instead of 44, and putting either 12 skill speed, or acc on them. 44 crit just seems like such a waste since there's so much in other slots anyway.

I bought the 2 Xenoblade themes! They are $1.99 each!!
For this one "Mechonis", the game's title theme plays. Nothing else really special about it. Soothing song though, if you want a peaceful home screen!
For this one "Monado", the Gaur Plains theme plays and the symbol inside the Monado cycles through the different arts as you scroll the bottom screen!

Was the game really that good? Kinda find Shulk annoying in smash. In Xenoblade does he say his special moves every damn time he uses them?

All characters do, but not 100% of the time. There's a reason for it though: they help you coordinate attacks. For example, some enemies can be toppled, but you can only topple them when you inflict the Break status. If you are controlling a character that can topple but not break, you have to watch for another character to use a Break skill before you can topple.
The game is simply amazing though.
The world is MASSIVE, the battle system is really unique, the characters are all likable, and it's just an awesome RPG.
