I always interpreted jealousy about something you possess, not something you long for.

I'm a strong believer that everyone has at least 1 thing they can be considered "great" or stronger at.

Am I the best tax accountant in the world? Hell no.

Am I great at what I do? I would love to believe so. I know that I'm in the 99th percentile of people who understand taxes, both US and domestically. But I have at least that to work with.

I think the opposite. Envy is a bad sentiment, jealousy if not eccessive is a good one.

Envy=you wish someone didn't have what you don't have.
Jealousy=you wish no one has what you have.

At least that's how I interpret them.

Little bit of Canadian Law regarding Powers of Arrest:

They apply, in similar fashion to the US.

Citizen Arrest: Can only legally and lawfully detain a person who is in the act of committing a crime/witnessed the act of committing a crime on their property, the property of their direct neighbor on any side, place of business (only when at said place of business) or public area where an identifiable threat to life and limb of you, a loved one, or other citizen is imminent, and requires immediate action.

Police Arrest: Can only legally, and lawfully arrest a person while in possession of an arrest warrant, identifies themselves as an officer of the law, or justice of the peace, at a private residence of a citizen with a warrant, place of business with a warrant, or public area with a warrant, or without a warrant as a means to protect the public at large from immediate harm, and fills out the appropriate paperwork.

Security Guard Power of Arrest: NONE. Security Guards may only detain or remove a person from the place of business, but may not exercise at any time the powers of arrest granted legally and lawfully to private citizens or public police officers. They may defend themselves, with the tools granted permission by law, or by legal acquisition for the context detail of their security work. (this last part means you can not use a weapon that is not part of your working uniform. What you are legally allowed to use are your boots and/or flashlight if one is provided, and the main reason security guards carry the big steel flashlights)
