Expert grid has fewer restrictions (lv 1-4 spheres). Meaning you can walk with Yuna to Auron path and make the Summons quickly overpowered. (Can do that with Blitzball anyway).
Standart grid has 64 or so more fields. If you want to statmax use this grid.

I remember filling the grid on the original on an old game I had.
I made Lulu so OP that magic was redundant. Wish I had a chance to try dark aeons and actually put it to the test since they're equally overpowered.

Dark aeons will wreck your ***if you don't do extremely specific equipment and erase/perfect the sphere grid to max almost all stats, INCLUDING luck.

Also, whenever a boss is about to use their special move, you have to put out an aeon to eat the move because it will do 99,999 damage to everyone or just straight up kill them (Yojimbo).

It's the case for most of the dark aeons anyway, I know Dark Valefor is pretty weak, I think the next couple after it are as well. But overall, you grind for tons of hours to perfect the sphere grid, make certain equipment, and cheese the hell out of all the fights because everything one shots anyone/everyone.

Honestly, after doing it all I felt really let down. Beating Zodiark in 12 was much more satisfying than beating any of the aeons in 10.

So it's pretty much a glass canon shootout >_>

Yea, except you have 9999 hp and they have like, 10-50 million. You also have to fight Yojimbo 5 times in a row without saving and when his bar charges up he instant casts Zanmato. He's still easy using normal strats.

Oh, almost a lot of them have extra status effects on hit or so.

Well, even though it's superficially difficult, at least it's not like Nemesis which was a matter of auto-revive and quick hit.

Penance has way too much HP to use the glass canon strategy. As for Dark Summons it is way better just to block their Limit break with Summons while the real battle takes place between these actions.

FFX has a planning Battle system, if you know what to do everything becomes easy. No screw ups possible due to bad timing like with ATB Systems. If you do not read up endgame battle guides it will give you a hard time, endless hours of preparing for failing plans ect.
How difficul and satisfying it will be depends on you. Multiple strategies work so you do not have to figure out the one strategy like a puzzle game.

Personally, after watching Me!Me!Me! (don't post it here) I kinda interpreted it as the guy had either left a loving girlfriend to attempt to get a woman who was a bit more voluptuous and sexual or he simply cheated with her. The girl crying as he walks away represents the girlfriend while the dancing girl represents the girl he cheated with. The girl that comes out of the screen and the ones he plays out a FPS scenario with represent his temptation and his attempts to resist being torn apart and left alone after the new girl gets bored with him.

That's what I took from it anyway.
