Well, stormsurge is less important than it was before, I mean..it's something, but it certainly has less of an impact than it did before the major stat boosts from atmas and cruor buffs and new gear. Certainly nothing better to spend merits on really, and should be your top priority.

And modus veritas really isn't that important, it resists the majority of the time, and 90% of all nms just flat out resist it. Boosting a severely gimped job ability is like meriting the enmity songs, to put it in relevance to brd merits which I assume you're comfortable with.

What would you suggest would be the best place to put the merits in then? Sadly, Leveling this job in Abyssea has made me feel a bit insecure about playing the job. I really dont know how to play it all that well other then nuking and curing! :(

I edited my post with my merit choices, ninjaed them in after you quoted though ;;. I've been playing sch for a long time, and I really like the job, and I feel this is what works best for me.

Yeah that was just my idea after skimming the merits lol. Mages are kinda hit and miss with merits, I find you have to try them because they sound great on paper but don't deliver.

Oh totally, its mad sneaky the way SE makes things sound sometimes. But sch really is a fun job to play, it's just a shame I don't get to play it that often.
It has really huge potential but people tend to ignore it due to a lessened ability to proc and cure as heavily as a whm. :(
But I find the versatility of SCH to be one of its best characteristics. We all know how sch can cure pretty high numbers using rapture, and timing it out you can pull off disturbingly awesome nukes.
This is from when I was making my Varuna's Staff +2, I think I was at the +10% damage stage so obviously the damage would be much higher now.



Needless to say I could've opened with a water V and if I had precisely timed it, maybe even added an Ebullience in there. Its all about how much you think you can get away with when doing things like this haha.

All in all going sch to things, I feel our duty would be to simply provide what is needed and make quick decisions as to what is needed.
Unsleepable links because someone accidentally diagaed? Swap to dark arts and Manifestation Gravity the fools.
Whm low on mp? Light arts and help cure up and toss a slow and paralyze to debuff the mob.
Needing to have your mnk or whatever tank stay alive easier while waiting on grellow to proc or something? Buff them up with unique buffs.
Got the proc and time to kill? Dark arts it and nuke 'er down.

That being said, sorry for the giant wall of text.. I'm passing out, think imma head to bed, If you have any other questions feel free to pm me if you want, or I'm sure other people would be glad to help, but I don't mind helping those willing to seek assistance.

That is bizarre! Why would it be a concern in the first place? One of my friends took her daughter to a physician who was Indian and was really rough with her daughter, so she changed physicians. Her pediatrician is a lesbian and my friend has absolute confidence in her!

People have some pretty messed up assumptions.
It was fairly common from the 60s onward to associate homosexuality with bestiality as well.
I can't help but wonder where people pull that from.
Perhaps they have their own latent obsession with things that shock them.

It's fear of the unknown with a bit of over inflated ego. People assume all kinds of things. I'm not attracted to every girl I see, why would I assume every gay guy is attracted to me? Assuming there is some lack of a normal response propagates all kinds of faulty conclusions.
