Open any PlayStation .EXE file from any PlayStation disc and that's what you will find on it's header.

I went through literally 3 original PlayStations before I finally went and grabbed a PSone in 2004, only to get a PS2 later that year.
Ended up giving the PSone to a friend, and still have the PS2 which still works to this day

Explanation:
VRC7 is a cartridge chip developed for Konami in 1989 by Yamaha. It contains a 6 channel FM synthesizer chip along with the normal cartridge hardware (memory switching circuits and such) and that's good enough to mimic the Mega Drive sound as you can see on the youtube video.

Man, I remember when came stores had consoles out for testing out whatever game was there. I remember this black playstation at this one store. I could even choose what game I wanted to play as well. First game I ever played on PS was Mortal Kombat II. Wasn't aware it was going to suck because every time I did a special move there was a completely noticeable loading lag. Didn't think the system would last very long.
