honestly (imo) the manufacturer should cover that, unless something was being done to make it run out of normal operations, as that could have been really dangerous.

But in my mind manufacturer's should hold up to their products, others call it a limited warranty.

As for the board itself: from what I know of industrial electricians they have more of a habit of replacing a board than replacing the parts on a board, but I guess that varies too by area, or company and by board. If it's just a single part that's blown, and there's no damage to other parts and the traces/holes aren't burnt out, then yeah it's a rather easy fix, and some even have the skill to do the rest, but that's way beyond my level of skill.

The machine is roughly 20 years old, the warranty is likely long gone. as far as getting a pic of the board, it's on the opposite side of the electrical cabinet, would have to forklift the dielectric fluid tank out of the way to get to it, and just don't have time tonight.

I'm a cnc operator/programmer. Normally i'd be running the mills, but recently got bumped up to working on the wire EDM machines.

What I do is neat, but can be really boring. Since everything after the initial set up is automated. Longest program I've ever run was in the machine for over 2 weeks. Over 140 hours of machining time for one part.
