There are 3 things every man must find.
-a good doctor
-a good mechanic
-and a good lawyer
You find these three and life'll be good.
Did you crash a bus again? thank you, that joke never gets old. never.
Sorry. I invoked my inner Nik for a minute there.

Is there a proper sequence of answers to flagging the BLU quest? I always seem to *** it up no matter how I answer. I'll tell you what I tell everyone that asks me. If you can think like a blu, you will find your way~ otherwise you are not worthy!

Funny, that's how I got it flagged. Pretty much had to be a unwavering jerk :(
Spouse dying of incurable disease? Kill em.
Best friend betrays you? Kill em.
Scroll that ruins your life? Read it.
Friend you owe debt to asks you to do something scummy? Do it.
Pretty much insanity wolf epitomized.

Given the lore behind BLU the answers make sense. It's less about being a jerk and more about understanding you are duty bound on top of essentially giving up you humanity for power.
Aaaand I just wanna go home and play more 14. ._.

Yeah, I understand the whole honorbound to duty thing and protecting the interests of the Empress, but what I don't get is how failed science experiments became the foundation for such an organization that operates as an elite task force. Especially since BLUs are constantly fighting for their soul as it slowly loses grip to the creatures' souls they absorbed, only to inevitably become a soulflayer.

Dunno yet. Hope it's a good brand. At least decent.

That's a shitty cop out :(
I've played virtually every FF to date save a few spin-offs, and BLU has never had as in-depth a lore as they have had in XI, which is really nice. However, I sadly never got the chance to get far in ToAU missions or BLU AF before my extended hiatus.

Not really a cop out. It's an idea that's just been overused enough that it's not as surprising to me.
If you want my real opinion on it? Failed experiments or not, while in control of their souls the BLUs have massive power, on top of this because of the choices that have to be made in order to accept the curse of their existence they have a revered quality, the ability to make tough decisions for the "greater good," to understand the implications and still undergo the transformation is quite a sacrifice after all.
And, when you can salvage things from an experiment, you will. The immortals may not be perfect but they work well enough until they're overtaken. No reason not to make use of their skills.

I get it, but it seems an unwise decision in matters of security when your entire guard unit is one giant ticking time bomb.

Go through the damned AF and mission storylines, you'll learn more as to why the Empire employs such persons/creatures.
They can artificially create super"humans" by method of implanting the parts of slain creatures into the subjects. The armor worn is also used to (according to lore) keep the mind sane, and the darkness of transforming into a vile soulflayer at bay. If a subject is on the verge of transforming, they can easily be culled and cut down.
These same experiments also gave rise to the Lamia and Merrow "undead swarm", which many are at the beck and call of the Empire Elites.

I always thought Gau was a blue mage of sorts.
I liked that more natural approach. He's able to utilize monster abilities due to the fact that he's lived in the wild most of his life and is able to successfully imitate their abilities.

I still like the fact you actually had to go find the monster that does the attack and then go watch it do it and learn it. Makes the job a bit more... personal because you actually put the work into it rather than just buying/farming a scroll and poof, learned.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
