IT'S GONE TO FAR!! The Tattoo. once a symbol of rebellion and non conformity, has been degraded and watered down to the point 70 year old grandmas are getting tramp stamps on their back sides. We have decided to assemble a crack team of doctors skilled in the art of laser tattoo removal to track down all sugary snow puff tattoos and forcibly remove them... Kinda like doctors without borders, but with an RVs full of laser tattoo removal machines escorted by the hell's angels.... All offending tattoos will be tracked down and removed. Including, but not limited to, rainbows, smiley faces, fairies, flowers that aren't dripping blood, hearts without daggers through them, musical notes, names of grandchildren, poems, quotes, butterflies, birds that aren't gnawing on skulls, chinese characters that were supposed to say "peace" or "love" but actually say "disease", unicorns, marilyn monroe, tinkerbell, barbed wire around the bicep, "tribal" tattoos when tribe affiliation can not be proven, inspirational prayers, taz, feathers, disney characters, eye liner, angel wings, stars, etc. Odin.Liela said: » I'm sorry to burst in like this and disrupt everybody, but I just need to get a little something out of my system. Ahem. I CAN'T WAIT FOR AUTUMN YAAAAAAY I'M FINALLY GETTING THE SLEEVE TATTOO I'VE WANTED FOR TWO YEARS THIS AUTUMN AND I JUST CAN'T WAIT A MINUTE LONGER AND I'M GOING CRAZY WAITING FOR THIS DARN SUMMER TO GO HOME ALREADY SO I CAN GET MY TATTOO!! *clears throat* Sorry bout that, everyone back to your regularly scheduled activities please. Oh man. Waiting an entire season? My artist generally schedules 3-4 weeks out and that's hard enough of a wait. I once drew a lil heart with a glittery pen on my right arm. I'm such a punk!

Recently re-discovered The Cure. I spent over a decade too afraid to have any ink done that I wanted to, constantly worried it would interfere or cause adversity with job opportunities and the like, or that it would upset some family or whatever else.
It's taken me a long time to get over what the hell everyone else thinks about me. I've had three sessions over the past two months and am planning a few more in the coming months, and several projects projected for the future. Playing "catch up", as it were, for years of putting it off. I will say, however, that the response I've had to my ink thusfar from friends and family has been far more positive than I would have expected. So I'm happy about that. Every time I listen to Megadeth I think about how much better they'd have always been if Dave had just decided to let someone else sing.
His voice is grating as hell to me. YouTube Video Placeholder Bahamut.Rulerofdarkness

You are fired on the spot at where I work if it's discovered you have/got a tattoo. That is, if it's in plain sight and can't be covered by clothing easily, and they go further by stating it can't be visible if you wear a short sleeve shirt and raise your arms above your head.
Not that I want such a thing myself. They seem like a waste of money to me, but that's just me. Yeah, Dave Mustaine is a little full of himself. I still like Megadeth, but that's what happens when you have guitar geniuses who think they can sing. Case in point, I love Black Label Society, but I've heard Zakk try to have a Phil Anselmo-like growl to pretending he was Ozzy Osbourne before finally settling on a style that's wholly his own.

Where do you work? It greatly upsets me that practices like these continue. They're part of the reason I didn't get any for a long time. If it's an obscene tattoo (nudity/sexual content, graphic language) fine, they could require you to cover it if you have contact with the public. That said, because pointless standards like this exist, I still won't have tattoos done that are visible in formal/business casual attire (no neck/face, not that I want neck/face done anyhow; nothing on the lower third of my arms or on my hands). I keep saying the same thing about having kids, but everyone gets mad at me. :( Aww ***. Bandai recalling the HGUC Zeta Plus A1 (UC ver) due to defective molds.
Glad I decided to wait for the C1 before buying one. :I Also more BF2 production art. Zock vs giant squid or something. Maybe we'll see more field hazards in season 2. :O Got my elkhorn robe last night, can't wear it yet.

I keep saying the same thing about having kids, but everyone gets mad at me. :( I work as a night manager for a hotel. More of a resort/spa type. Housekeeping is a little more lax on tattoo rules considering the majority of them don't even speak English. But if you're a front desk clerk, manager, or the executive housekeeper; the rules are stricter. My required attire is a suit 4 out of the 5 nights I work. Only 4 out of 5 because I happen to work on casual Friday, which I get to wear khaki slacks and an oxford. So ownership basically doesn't want to upset the uptight monied individuals with whom you regularly deal.
I get that. I don't agree with it, but for them it's a business decision. It's the aging societal belief that tattoos = bad people. It's still pretty lame. Bahamut.Rulerofdarkness

I'm okay with it. I get a discount for the spa and facilities. :P
A standard room is $170 + tax. I get the same for $50 + tax. Majority of customers are idiots big time. But very very few actually flaunt their money or act like they are better than you because they have more money. Bahamut.Rulerofdarkness said: » I'm okay with it. I wouldn't expect so; what I mean is that it's just the ingrained belief even in otherwise perfectly likable people. My mother included, in fact. She's still a little weirded out by it. It's just one of those preconceived societal notions that needs to be shaken. It'll get there in time. |
