I've only read a limited amount of books. Mostly science related stuff like Spiritual Machines, Philosophy texts, and stuff by Hawking.
Actual fiction, just Catcher in the Rye and Brave New World that I can recall. Maybe one or two more.

You never know what opportunity might come by. Well, I meant writing. The moment we as human beings stop expressing ourselves through the written word is the moment I shake my head at humanity.
Schizm, your vids aren't working for me ; ;

Or anything by Sallinger really edit: though I was one of the "weird" ones in high school who thought reading Catcher in the Rye for english class was some revolutionary ***so take this advice with a grain of salt. also hello mag... how could i forget a proper greeting?! I promise that it's on my to-read list. I've just been bogged down this first summer with all the work I have to do for August and the foreseeable future. I will get to it eventually, though; when things begin to slow down.
edit: Heya, Fractal! Long time no talky, sir. Brave New World was better, but that was because the max or cliff notes were on back order at the time, lol. If you haven't, read The Giver, you hobos!
Magnuss would like it if he hasn't already read it. I read part of it back in middle school (when I didn't give a *** about reading). I'd like to do another thorough read-through of it when I get the chance, especially because it's currently sitting on many schools' banned books lists. For some reason, that just makes it more tantalizing.
WTF.
Why is it on the banned book list? Asura.Schizm said: » I really wish other directors were allowed to remake movies for TV. I would like to see Quentin Tarantino do "Raiders of the Lost Ark" or M. Asura.Schizm said: » If I am writing a story, it's usually one of those odd situations I think about but then try to add more meaning into the story. The last one I was pitching an idea to a friend (this is just for fun) is about what if someone is born on another planet, the moon or even in space. Due to bone structure, you can't go to Earth due to the gravity, but you would be living floating around something so beautiful and see Earth out your window but can't ever go there. You can communicate with people there and they can come to visit you but you can't visit them. Add alittle idea of debates of racism and characters that have conflictions, acts of rebellion and desires, and well you have a story.... I did write a sorta story that's really meant for an RPG adaptation for a video game I'm trying to make. It's basically a battle between the sexes that involves in depth philosophical views of imperialism. It also uses a lot of Far East historical references of a sort, mainly from the Han Dynasty, aka Romance of the Three Kingdoms with a sprig of conceptual ideas from the Russian Empire. I've yet to come up with an ending that I like though. Of course I had to westernize it a lot too.
Except that it doesn't
Damn I forgot about this website.
Does the banned book list include Alice in Wonderland? Because that actually does promote the ingestion of drugs.

Will try and re-read it this summer but I've been taking a bunch of books from the couple that owns the house I rent a room in... Paul Adams is the husbands name (fairly famous neurobiologist apprently) and he has tons of neuroscience etc books laying around that I've been gathering to read over the summer lol edit: Bismarck.Bloodrose said: » Does the banned book list include Alice in Wonderland? Theoretically, yes. I was using a hypothetical situation, but that essentially is how these situations come about. All it takes is one parent to muck the whole system up.
