Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Would you prefer lukitty?
nyaaa...
I think he likes being called Lulubelle.
It is raining outside.
I am pleased. So I made cedar plank salmon for dinner.
Holy *** that was awesome. I've cooked some hickory planked salmon with honey glaze before.
dat ***is awesome. Have never had any fish as delicious as plank-cooked fish since. *** me... they finally put the prices for one of my courses online (this is just for ONE...) it's damn near close to $400 @.@ for *** BOOKS D:
IT'S ALL MAGS FAULT, HIM AND HIS TEACHER SECRET SOCIETY ARE RAISING PRICES D: I'm out for you mag! I KNOW THIS IS YOUR DOING Can't you pirate them? lol
No way I'd ever pay that much for books for one class.
Bismarck.Dracondria said: » Can't you pirate them? lol Eh perhaps, i'll have to look it up later... meaning i'll procrastinate until I really need them, search desperately and not find them ... then end up buying them at the overinflated price anyway :x (or I could look them up tomorrow) Cerberus.Pleebo said: » No way I'd ever pay that much for books for one class. no ***lol, I was thinking it was gonna be maybe 100 or less... but ... seems this course needs like 2 different books, 5 different other things and ... ugh ... and this is Astronomy :x Bismarck.Bloodrose said: » I've cooked some hickory planked salmon with honey glaze before. dat ***is awesome. You're just being paranoid. You can also look into book rentals. I'm sure they still gouge you but I'd assume it would still be cheaper.
If we learned anything about college and university from "Accepted", it's a school's prestige is earned by how many students they reject every year.
"This public service announcement has been paid for and approved by the Secret Society of Teachers and Educators." You're just being paranoid. When it comes to using planks, you never use it more than once. Not only is it unsanitary, for the obvious reasons, it gets gross having that fishy wood smell lingering around, due to bacteria and viruses. I was Googling it, and it looks like there is a way to reuse the planks. It just requires a planer. Basically, shave off the used parts and you can keep using the plank.
Technically, you *could* throw that plank into a wood chipper, and then use that wood to smoke another batch of fish and all would be good. But I would still advise against it.

I spent a ton of time in kitchens and practicing safe cooking to allow anyone to do this. Fair 'nuff. Thanks for the heads up.
Also, try using pinewood planks to cook trout on. With a lemon-pepper glaze.

I KNOW THIS IS YOUR DOING Should have gotten a scholarship to pay for your books. That price is close to some of the prices of books for a few of my Information Systems classes I took a few years ago.
$100-150 is pretty typical for a single book if it's a technical/science related one. Some cost around $200. Jump to 11m.

Most of them are methods books and literature anthologies, both of which I feel would be incredibly useful in the years to come. I kept my programming and Linux books.

My Grandmother, before she died, (ironically of food poisoning, due to the inept elderly care facility she was in) had a massive collection of antiquated cook books, that some celebrity chefs have been ripping off. I swear I've seen some of those exact same recipes in the old books I have. Anyways... When I was in high school, my culinary teacher taught me how to make mayonnaise, and the 5 mother sauces: Bechamel, Hollandaise, Veloute, Espagnole, and Tomato.
