Hitbox started a couple months ago and it's better than twitch anyway



never heard of it but i'll be looking into it... twitch just ... that's just disappointing ... didn't like the site to begin with ... this just puts the nail in the coffin

why does google have to ruin everything? twitch wasn't amazing before, but now it's going to be horrible. least maybe now server issues will be less prevalent..

doubtful, it's because it's profitable. on an individual basis (normally), twitch isn't a major revenue stream like youtube can be. however, with google behind it and whatnot... it's going to become just another business outlet like youtube has over the years.

besides, if they wanted to be into esports that bad they could just launch their own site and fund their own teams. instead they're buying up another well-established ecosystem and leeching off of it with their corporate drivel

Why would YT try to compete with twitch esports when they can just buy them? The only good esport anyways is Starcraft, the shooters are a joke, and since two prominent shooters this year didn't/don't give a ***about competitive (not counting halo since it never has), they still have a long way to go.
