I'm trying to find a way to keep in contact with my students that is appropriate and legal. Anyone have any ideas? Obviously Facebook is out, and my personal email, but I was thinking about making a new email account just to keep in touch with former students.

Well, that would be the case if I was teaching at Central this year. Because I got a job across town, none of those kids will be able to come by.

they dont drive yet? Not sure what grade you teach. I knew people who would go to other schools to visit their teacher friends. My younger sister actually still has a friend that used to be her teacher that comes over to every of her party things for my niece :o it is possible still!

So the new sound card is functioning better than intended to be honest. I was scared that it wouldn't sound as clean as a DAC/amp combo... but really I have been using my Shure 840's and that little bugger is driving them extremely well. It also cleaned up the sound on my speakers a fair bit.

My wife let me loose with a credit card and just got my HD598's in the mail today. Just *** yes. Even fresh from the box on a mediocre sound card they sound great. I see why everyone raves about these as an amazing bang for buck purchase. Great mids, almost want to call them a bit bright (but they are brand new, so I expect this to mellow a bit with burn in), little bit of a warm signiture, and nice bass but not too much, which I adore. Just a very clean, deep, tight bass.

God... now I want more stuff. Thinking I may upgrade a Schiit Asgard II ($250) and Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog ($420) to get the most out of the new headphones. But then I'm gonna want a new pair of headphones for use with the amp/DAC. Just a never ending cycle of wasting money.

But these 598's have definitely made up my mind, I will be upgrading to HD650's some time in the not so distant future (after the amp/DAC of course). Then maybe hand the 598's to my wife and try to get her into my audiophile habits... though I tried to get her into gaming to no avail.
