I joined an AK as PLD one day.. blm is in darklight staff and okay gear for the instance. The dragoon (his buddy, I found out later) is similarly geared.
I'm Nice Guy Tank so I tank off. I love to chain pull with decently geared groups but I test on the first pack of dogs and I don't like the kill-speed so I pull it normal. It's an annoying thing to pull a bunch and watch how slowly it dies.
Go on up through and to demon wall. Healer falls off first repel, laughs, apologizes, and I just jump off.
BLM self-destructs on the way back. Starts complaining how the paladin isn't doing enough damage (damage, not hate, stuff stays glued to me) and I just start laughing. I tell him just how rich it is when the black mage is complaining about the tank's damage.
I did feel bad for the random white mage who apologized to me after 10 minutes of the blm's griping nonsense, left and ate the penalty timer.

While playing my WHM too often will I come across tanks that come into my Duty Finder PUG and believe they are fully capable of clearing the content with ease. MAYBE this is because you, the tank, are used to clearing things with Relic DPS or heals? Ifrit: Meh who cares
Garuda: 5.5k HP
Titan: You dont pug Titan, maybe 8K HP
Those are for PUGS only, with a skilled FC or group of friends or even a pug by invite group you can get away with having less hp.
But if you are going to DF tank those dungeons with less than my recommended HP, you're gonna have a bad time. As a healer I usually leave if the tank isn't close to meeting my requirements, because honestly, 15min debuff +25min WP run is WAY better than one 45min WP run that has a chance of dissolving midway.

I laughed hard at 5.2k for AK and 5.5 for Garuda. As far as Garuda, people overvalue HP in place of dodging Slipstreams. If you can dodge slipstreams, garuda is easily tankable with 4.8. I know because I grabbed a group on my sch and the pld's had 4.7 and 4.8, lol.
I remember one of my first AKs, guy commented how cool it was to see the whole group in AF and how cool the cutscenes were because of that and how that's not something you'd get to see in a few weeks.

I made a Whm quit once in a WP. I mean, I thought we were doin' fine. I gauged them on healing me. They were doing great! I pulled the 3 skeletons and 2 tonberries in the Endless Rise... They took hate on Berries, and I got it off them but then they got Stalkered or something like that. They died, I died, but Daus lived. Whm left without a word :o
About a minute later the DF replaced him with a Thyrus +1. Thyrus +1's comment to me by run's end, "You are the easiest WAR to heal that I have ever healed :O!"

Solution 1: spice things up with your wife somehow, go on a trip, do something different from the routine of any kind

EDIT: Since you said all that, I'd suggest just looking into ways you two can do that together. Or like I said, make it quite clear to the other parties involved that it isn't leading anywhere and that you're married. Explain the situation. Are you sure jealousy won't come back to haunt you guys? Or feeling uncomfortable? Is it worth making the one you've committed to feel that way if it is a possibility, over something like feeling flirtatious? You can find new things to do. It's just things you should really discuss with her and make things clear.

It also sounds like your wife is understanding because she might be a flirt as well, and appears to have shot down some males who attempted to pursue further than they should have... hey you never know.
After all we as men tend to be stupider than women when it comes to these things... for instance, you've actually thought about asking one of these women out.
