Yeah, that sounds like a lot of unnecessary busy work. My methods professor has routinely made us read like 6-10 chapters out of various textbooks and turn in these journals which have to be two full pages, single spaced. For those of us counting at home, that's approximately 1200-1500 per assignment. And that was once per week.
His reasoning was this: "I want to challenge you guys", which is awesome because of all the stuff I have to do at my internship on top of everything else. Gotta love those *** professors, huh?
Wouldn't it be better to challenge someone to make their point with supporting evidence in as little writing as possible? I mean, in the "real world" aren't we going to have to win arguments, give presentations, and complete interviews by presenting our positions and views in short easy to get across and yet still effective snippets?
What good is being able to write a 20 page paper on why I think Nascar should be banned if when I get into a debate with someone they win it by shouting "NASCAR IS AMURICA!" while I am still rambling off my well thought out thesis...
I dunno... one more semester... one more semester...
