Very good point. I liked many girls when I was a wee bit younger than spath and talked to them later in life, and somehow always came up that we had crushes on each other and that they did not show their interest in me since I was not showing interest in them and throwing off mixed signals. Anyways, I grew out of that phase, *** mixed signals, make show of interest, if not returned, start over on someone else. Ain't nobody got time for those waste of time "i like her does hse like me? i don't know, I will keep talking to her hope she likes me" kind of games. Plus yes I am old and don't got as much time to waste on that.

The problem with just going for it is it always ends the same way for me.

Goes for it > Things appear hopeful! > Things go opposite direction, usually girl losing interest. Attempt to move on > Girl magically becomes interested again > Repeat 20 times > Finally confront about the phenomenon. Answer? I'm going to hurt you or I am afraid of hurting you.

Don't get me wrong. It's cool that they're actually concerned about me but it gets to the point where I literally just wanna say: "Hey, look! I'm not fragile and I can take a little hurt. I'm willing to take a chance, why can't you do so as well?"

As patient as I am I can't help but eventually get tired of being dragged along, even if I know I'm the one letting it happen.

It's usually about as pleasant as...hrm I don't have my own unpleasant line so to quote my professor it's as pleasant as "*** yourself with a roller coaster made of axes"

It was later concluded that it was a wooden roller coaster made of two handed war axes....

Seems fitting though.
