What's common now that I am seeing is people ripping out ATX power supplies and getting a molex connector and using those to power arcade machines.

could even wire an on/off switch (if it doesn't have one) by putting a switch between the "green" and a ground. (it's usually the green wire but I'm sure a lot of psu's aren't standard).
also good for if one wants to test car/boat electronics indoors without buying an expensive benchtop supply, you can just use a computer atx psu. Just have to make sure you're not exceeding capacity etc.
arcade power supply with adjustable can go from $8 to $18. The reason why I use those more is after testing power to a PCB board, sometimes the 5.021V to 5.1V is needed if the wiring/connectors aren't as good and losing power on the board.
The ATX should be an older one also that supplies a -5V for sound on jamma boards, sometimes the screen will flicker crazy without that being wired in on the jamma 56 pin.
I have thought about just getting the proper computer ATX case and just get a mount a 60-in-1 jamma board to the case and have it portable.
I wonder if a micro-atx or a mini-itx will work on some of those applications. Small, a good standard, etc.

I had to go find this so I could quote myself because I find it slightly awesome that after I wrote this, I found out that Idaho has some new Star Trek scratch tickets. And I begged my husband to buy one, because Star Trek! Make it so!
And so he brought me one home and I scratched it, and we won $15. xD Does it count as winning the lottery when it's off a scratch ticket and it's $15? Not quite enough to move to New Zealand yet, but by golly, it's a start!

No :-( We just hand off defective boards and stuff to the engineers to troubleshoot. It's really a waste of the engineers' time, but they are better at figuring it all out than anyone else, so they get stuck with it.

I have like 4 boards that need reballed.
(3 of them I believe it's the cpu, the other it's the ram).
not 100% certain though.
I think I'll soon have access to be able to do it @ school, I just am not certain how to...
the stencils and solder is cheap, the station is the expensive part.
I watched the Hunger Games movie last night, and I didn't hate it. Plus, it fulfills two of my 21 book requirement, so... yay for watching the movie!

This entire area is highly over priced. May I recommend Richmond? They were affordable when I lived there for a stint (counts on fingers) 12 years ago......FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
