There's a very fine line between pride in personal accomplishment and actual arrogance though. The lines do blur sometimes, and we can't fault everyone for having pride and confidence.

EDIT: Especially when it can easily be misinterpreted.

I really wouldn't consider pride and confidence the same. The lines may blur, but arrogance is just so completely negative.I feel like there's a very definable difference, really.

Arrogance ventures into just plain asshat territory.

Edit: Pride perhaps can be intertwined, I think. Just confidence is a word I'd use differently than arrogance.

I think that's a very simplified definition and takes away the negative value of "arrogance," which truly exists. I just fail at putting that into words. BUT.
