I've definitely done it before when I was in the navy. We had a huge magnet for erasing tapes and we decided to put it up against the case of a computer near the hard drive and badda boom badda bing. When I told him about this he said, "Hmmm, seems unlikely but I guess if you had some kind of super magnet..."
This was just 5 minutes after I had to show him my NTFS thumb drive that he said could not exist.

depends how old the HDD is.
HDDs with metal plates are easily susceptible to magnets~ but modern HDDs with ceramic plates aren't. D:
So I just got this email, "The survey for 13WNDLC is closed. I hope you were able to take advantage of this opportunity to provide your instructor with important feedback for improving the class that you are taking".
I laughed quite a bit at the bolded.
Reason being they make it sound optional.
I mean technically it is but the sender of this email would email us 3 times a day to reminding us to take the survey as well as they would hound the professors to hound us. In short you did the surveys to shut people up and it wasn't remotely optional.
Time to configure my school email to mark her as spam.

Right now just part time at my families business since I went back to school.
Now the field of work is extremely boring, in short I manage a storage facility so I tend to deal with people who are on bad financial times....
Makes for some good stories.

Been taking an overloaded school schedule so this is all I can manage for now. Looking at some full-time openings in summer for when I transfer schools.

you can. its just complicated.
now to make a live usb disk? that's something different, but also possible.
to install a whole OS to a usb disk? possible, but pretty stupid to do, unless it's a "mini windows xp/7" or a "live cd" as you'd need compatible drivers for each system you plug it in.
as for installing from a USB I like it sometimes, however for me most of the time it's simpler to just burn a disk, for XP anyway, for 7, usb booting is simple enough.
