Capcom is releasing Dragon's Dogma again with basically a DLC, but you have to buy the game over again just to play it.

I thought they were releasing the new thing as a stand alone disc based expansion that DOESNT include the original game,and requires the original to run it?

The way I understood it is that the new game will have all of DD, with more content.

I'll play it. Just like I got Lost Odyssey, I'll try this one, too. There's a part of me that's always been curious. I can't promise I'll finish it, though. lol
I love watching people play adventure maps for minecraft, like spellbound caves and stuff. It's always interesting to see how people play it differently.

Well, there is an easy way to tell if you'll like Dark Souls or not.
The game doesn't really tell you the story, like another game would. The first thing that you'd have to be willing to do is break the game down and find the answers for yourself. That includes reading item descriptions, looking at your environment as you explore the game, and talking with NPCs to hear what they have to say.
(or just look at EpicNameBro videos or other players who have been breaking the game down since 2011 discovering the lore for themselves and making videos to share with others)
You can walk over the edge and fall to your death, so you have to be okay with the lack of walls to protect you from falling.
The most important thing is you have to be willing to stand your ground, block with your shield, then swing your sword. You can't just pick up a weapon and attack like crazy, unless you want to waste your limited amount of healing power and die before you reach your objective.
You also have to be willing to explore. The game is open world, and you can travel to any place you wish unless it's something you unlock later on in the game. This is both a blessing and a curse, depending on the player.
The game has a reputation for being the hardest game of this generation, which is complete bs. The game is as difficult as you make it, and it can be quite easy if you make it easy. You can level your weapons up to become stronger and overwhelm your enemies, you can summon players to exploit the poor enemy AI for multiple players, and you can use exploits to level faster, or avoid parts of the game entirely.
