Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

There is a difference between being upset that something has changed and going in expecting it to be something it's not though. Every Final Fantasy game is different, you should be going in with the expectations of chocobos, a moogle, and something called Shiva but beyond those things every game can stand on it's own gameplay wise. FF10-2 followed this even being a sequal, the story and gameplay have little link to 10 besides characters and areas.

It's kinda what makes FF unique, you shouldn't go in with any solid expectations because if you do you are bound to find something you don't like or be unhappy that has been changed. Thats kinda what happened with the new DMC isn't it? I haven't played any from the series so idk whats going on there.

Now, I haven't played 13-2 yet, but 13 wasn't really any different than any previous FF I've played, so I dunno about FF being dumbed down. :/
Battle and levelling systems sure were a step in the wrong direction from previous games, though...

and in regards to pokemon,I just buy both and borrow my friend's 3DS and transfer all 3 starters to my main game xD

I liked Zelda Ocarina of Time, thought it was greatest game ever made, definitely of all Zelda games made. Then they made Twilight Princess, different, but got my horse, got some neat tools, neat sword, but got like, Weapon Skill like stuff, where we could split heads, Death blows, stuffs! And even though I hated turning into a wolf, I ended up thinking it was ok. FOr finding stuffs. So I thought Twilight Princess was better then Ocarina of Time, but definitely not the best game ever made. Still kinda reserve OoT for that, in my head, BUT I don't play many games, so really, my opinion is nothing if I can't compare it to other games made.

XII had the potential to be a great game but after about half the game the story just sucked, not to mention the wrong guy was the main character. Reks would have been a much better character than Vaan if they really had to have a bishounen. It did have a great battle system and hunts were a great addition and the world was big and awesome.

Balthier is more the main than Vaan tbh.I was playing XII for the last 2 weeks before ni no kuni and I was surprised that he wasnt the main character after getting to what I suspect is near the end.

I wouldn't say 11 or 14 doesn't count, but I still don't think they should of got a number in the series. It should of just been FF online, then 14 could of been FF w/e~

11 and 14 has story, they are open world, they are just as much of a game as other FF games except they are premium games you have to keep paying to experience, the worst kind. Just buying the game doesn't mean you can even play it, and I think that's such a stupid concept.

Ignoring what I think about that though~ like I said, 11 and 14 are still as much of a game as other FF games. I just think they are lacking when it comes to story, at least 11. 11 had some good stories, but they all fell short or were too short.

Twilight Princess

omg i never even put that together!

December 2011 I was felling kinda depressed so I went off the grid for a few weeks and I restarted LoD since I had never finished it and I finally finished it during that time :D

Because I greatly enjoyed those games. Even more so than some of the older games that everyone loves so much.

XI's main draw was the online play, but I looooooves all the story lines I did. Wish I'd done WotG, but lazy is lazy. <_<

XII's story did fall apart halfway through but the game play was excellent and I found most of the characters interesting. The map was amazing and the hunts were fantastic. Also, scenery porn.

XIII was very linear (which I didn't mind in the slightest) until Gran Pulse. I liked the story, although I will admit I was lost at first with all the terms being thrown around I didn't know because I didn't watch (or know about) the video explaining what everything was. Greatly enjoyed the game play. Characters were likable, even Hope grew on me after a bit. Music was fantastic and even more scenery porn.

Different tastes are different tastes. /shrug

The story could of been a lot better, and the final boss was a disappointment for me. The hunts were interesting, and I enjoyed the concept for chests being random even though if you wanted something good you would have to spam it.

The characters could of been better though~

The music in some parts were very beautiful as well.

I restarted with Tresami on Leviathan. My original Character was Raiu on Remora. Let me just say... you learn to love COP alot less when everytime you zone you're CS-napped. ._. But then, who doesn't like to get love jumped by Prische and the Triplets? @_@ Prommies are like.. cakewalk nao too.

Hunts and having a guild was a nice side thing though. I really wish they have a realtime combat system in 15 because I'm tired of turn-based combat :/ Versus doesn't count since it's not exactly the main series and 15 will probably be out before it at this rate lol

I didn't like Tifa as a character~

Not any better but not any worse either... The only thing the older games have going for them is nostalgia factor. They aren't any less linear than newer games as an example, they just use a world map to cover it up. You can take the map and connect the dots from one town to the next and plot the whole game. On top of that most if not all of the side quests are located right alongside that that line for 70-80% of the game. The only two ones that are actually not linear are X-2 and XIII-2, there is no set order to do everything, it's entirely possible to miss 50% of the game and things end up differently/you end up with different rewards based one choices made/what quests you did. Hell X-2 had rewards and plotlines only obtainable by failing specific quests.

On the combat front I don't really see them living up to the credit they are given... There is just little strategy involved in regular fights and even boss fights can be pretty dull.

Kalilla just likes Tifa as a pair of boobs.
