Anyone Had Troubles With PS3 Update Version 3.56?

Just got a 1st gen PS3 (to play ps2 games) and I'm scared to update. From what I'm reading, the only real issue is if I try to install a new HDD, which I don't plan to, but I'm curious as to if anyone else has a CECHA model PS3 and has had any troubles after updating. I want to access online content, but I'm scared like hell that I'll brick the machine somehow.

TL;DR: 1st gen ps3 owners: any trouble updating to 3.56?

I have the old ps3, but idk what version it's on, as it died weeks ago, don't have the $ to get it fixed right now.

even if by chance you did brick it sony would have to fix it.

I doubt very much it'd be killed by this update and I haven't heard of any issues with it.

I have a first generation PS3 and it's currently up to date on its updates and no problems to report thus far. You should be fine to update.

I own a 60GB PS3 and haven't had any problems w/ the verison updates for the frameware.
