I'm not trying to say he's not wasting his own time. He probably is and would be better off in a group. There are those that also just have to solo stuff and crap. But his is the only time hes wasting. People just find it easier to blame outside sources when things don't go their way.
And im not actually condoning the soloers actions. I just find this current trend of behavior unfair to the soloer.

Let's say I only need 1 NM in that zone and he's soloing that one. I've spent time and built my TEs, so going to another zone to do diff NMs waste time. He's solo'ing the only NM we need and he won't let us help him kill it. That's wasting our time.
If we leave, we lose all the TEs, there's no other NM we need, so it's not like we could be doing something else.
I agree with Tiger for the most part. I haven't had to endure someone soloing for 30 minutes on a NM I've needed yet, but I was in a group doing a zone boss, and there was a full alliance that got to the spawn point for the boss first... Apparently every single member of their ally needed a pop from it. ><
We asked them several times, nicely, if we could just do our one pop and leave, since they had 18 pops, but they refused. Eventually we outclaimed them, but by this point we had people just dropping out from boredeom and time loss(not sure why they weren't building TE's).
It's annoying, and it does waste everyone's time. On a single NM, it's just irritating. On a mult-tier NM that 18 people have been along for trying to get who just need the win, it's even moreso. In the end it took us over 2 hours to get one zone boss. It was a little ridiculous, but at that point I had so much time in I wasn't about to start over, so I rode it out and got the win.
I hate it when I'm killing tonberry placeholders and some wannabe SMN shows up, sets up camp, and watches me do all the work while they wait for the pop nm.
A pet peeve of mine that recently reared it's ugly head is overuse of macros that use pt chat, the guilty part is usually the pet jobs.

mine is gimps that couldnt gear a job before the empryean armor that are now running about with +2's thinking they know the job. I have seen my fair share of Pup's especially that full timed af and just had no clue how to gear the job, but because of the ls they are in or who they know, they are now running around with full +2 sets... WTF? I wish they would of atleast made the +2's a challenge to get. Keep the gimps gimp and let the better players shine.

The only time I say anything about anyone's gear is either if they ask about improvements, if they want to show me something, or to praise something. The very furthest I would go is offering non-specific help to someone who is clearly lost - only if I already knew them.

I could understand if the job they are on isn't a main and they don't want to arm it to the teeth, bu they should at least take the effort to make it acceptable :x
If it's their main job... they better know how to gear it :O
