It is a "new" sign. It's just not been counted as one. Ophiuchus has been around for a long time.

Ophiuchus is an old constellation. Apparently people have known this was going to happen. I guess there actually prior to 3000 years ago was 18 Zodiac signs used and when the callendar switched so did the signs or something like that. In any case I'm still a Cancer but not on the cusp. /sad.
