Actually a really good point flion, i still wish that PLD was the best tank though, its what its about, its supposed to die first before anyone else, any career pld right now must be suffering because no one wants them, this should be changed really, and let the MNKs be a DD/Secondary tank just like a WAR was to a PLD back in the past. , and let the PLD do what its meant to do, its all up to SE though lol.

I guess i was just upset because of how people were talking to me, i give my opinion and people shot it down in a way i didnt like, and instead of players talkin to each other properly, all they were doing was arguing like children so i had a bit of a go lol.

Thanks for the tip man, ill do that in a little bit, when someone puts it like that im going to believe them, i guess that the triggers really are that important.

Myself as well as many other people on these forums are sick and tired of ignorant people that don't bother to do research themselves on jobs and their capabilities. If you skimmed a few of these threads you would have known that MNK+NIN were the best tanks, and WHY.

I'm truly not trying to be rude or condescending, I'm just sick of people who don't know ***and act like they do.

As for the "people like DNC" remark you made. DNC sucks--NIN is better than it in every aspect--I don't see why so many people keep acting like it's a top-tier job. It's my favorite job, and I'll keep playing it until the game dies whether it sucks or not, but it is NOT a good job. With that said, it's still an excellent healer for outside-Abyssea areas, not like anyone ever does old content though.

These people are not ignorant, some of them have lives to live and cannot be on websites every day researching on this game, still not exactly fair to other players of the forum, for someone to be so rude to another just because they do not know something, which that player expects them to know before posting.

Instead of players having a go at other players, why dont they just help them? Thats what FFXI used to be about to me, my social linkshell was made just to help out new players, and as the leader of that linkshell i dedicated a hell of a lot of my time to raise new players into the game, and never expected them to have researched everything beforehand, not every player has the intelligence or the time available to keep up to the standards of some players in the forum.

A lot of players nowadays do not need help, they are very self efficient, and know absolutely everything, its easy to get angry with other players for not knowing something u think they should, i know very well because i been on that side many times, at the end of the day all i did was offer my opinions, i did not say i know everything or attack anyone first for the hell of it, i aint that kind of person

I don't use spellcast at all lol, it's on my to do list. I'm sure they won't mind, I think were lowmanning it as BRD, SAM, NIN, WHM, BLM and maybe a MNK

If I screw up I'll just blame lag and hide under blankets D:

If you ever need help with spellcast, let me know. I'm decent with it. D:

You could *maybe* take the death house with that setup, there's three DDs that can hold statues VS our two(all with decent evasion ratings too). Also, just for a reference--DO NOT try to evasion-super tank a pull. It is not a good idea, and you will die. :<

But yeah, blankets. Good idea.

Lol thanks, I think I understand the basics, it's just coding after all, but I haven't ever used XML and it looks scurry D:

But oh well, should still be fun, I haven't done Dyna in years.

A good way to do the deathhouse is like this.

Clear mobs on the way to MNK house, go for the Time extension just north west of there, you got to clear that area out pretty much.
Then go back and clear the route north west of the AH, and sneak over to the BLM house and kill that, and the SMN house.

Then you got a circle round the zone that you can kite, if you have a THF with movement speed, this is very easy to do, you can pull the death house from the south of it, and pull it counter clockwise round the zone, the linkshell can wait at the auction house and pick off mobs as they run by.
This way you dont have a ton of mobs to sleep, and statues casting like mad, they will be on the THF, im sure its doable on other jobs too, so long as they have movement speed, so those mobs aint going to catch up to you.

Did this a long time ago with my awesome dyna ls HadesReality, very fun indeed :)

It's really not that bad, the only problem I had was that the spellcast page doesn't exactly give a good comprehensive explanation on how to write XMLs. My best advice is to look at people's XMLs and learn it that way, if you need some to look at PM me. It's easy to read for the most part if you understand the basics, and you can figure out what that person was doing with their code. Some people are nice enough to have little comments... my XMLs don't have comments though. D:

Personally there is no best job, Im not sure why people Are all over MNK's *** for tanking ability, Im a MNK and i say that.
I can tank on WAR just like i can on any other job, it's called /nin and shadows with PDT/MDT gear, As far as Counter tanking and more HP, That just makes it easier to tank, doesn't make it better. There's yet a mob i've fought on MNK that i couldn't tank on SAM Or WAR, MNK is just the Easy way out of things, and with abyssea it's obvious people like the easy way.

Honestly /sam is better than /nin to tank. As long as you have a whm you can trust there's not much to worry about.

What about if your fighting something which does a lot of magic would could be absorbed by shadows but not by third eye? :)

Only time i /sam are in the zones with easy *** mobs, such as Misareaux or other zones that don't need Shadows, I'd be damned if i fought a bukhis /sam and got my cruor enhancements gone on the first triclip.

Even though I'm a big BLU fan, PLD was my first 75 job a couple years back. For the most part, it was enjoyable but there were areas where I couldn't stand it (i.e. Dynamis). Given its current state, I'm in no hurry to take it past 75.

As for post-abyssea, I don't see them completely abandoning the concepts introduced over the past three updates. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Good luck to them trying to wean us off our "crack" over the past six or so months.

As for the discussion at hand, it's one of those intractable problems given the number of possible situations. Moreover, we're still in something of a transitional phase until the update that brings the final increase. Even then, there will still be tweaks from then until SE decides to pull the plug.

I was going to make a similiar thread because I was curious.

If we had a lvl 98 crab generic IT and a full alliance of all jobs who was come out on top for damage after 6 hrs? Is any one job's new weaponskills blow away the rest outside abyssea? or balance wise are we back to normal?

If in abyssea, top dmg would probably go *not counting emps*:
War > Mnk > Nin > Thf > dnc > pup > Blu > Drg > Blm > Brd > Sam > Drk > Pld.

too many variables. If the crab was on the MNK full time then probably the MNK due to DoT with counters and ***, otherwise WAR.

Outside of Abyssea, probably

SAM > WAR > MNK > ***DD
