But on topic....I havent really looked at the Ochain, what type of shield is Ochain? I ask because of the block rate on the different sheild types.

So, it has a near 100% block rate on VT mobs, blocks considerably more damage than Aegis, and converts damage to MP.
I read somewhere that it also blocks additional effects(tested in Brenner) from landing on you. Which would allow a PLD to straight up solo Adze or Warbler and various other mobs with nasty en-attacks, but is that rumor true?

all i know is that ochain might put PLD back as a good tank again once everyone is out of abyssea (91~99) with everyone no longer in abyssea no more atmas and no more atonement nerf so pld might be more usefull again (and with a shield that has a 90% block rate with 25% damage converson I don't think plds are gonna die anymore.)
I actually expect a behemoth-type nm that only casts Meteor, tbh.

Yeah, I hope 91-99 isn't in abyssea. Though I like that abyssea is here to give us quick levels and AF3.
Right now, a gearless person with low level weapon and 3 beastly atmas can probably outdo a pimp-geared out person with no atmas on. That just seems kind of silly. As much as I like what they did with adding abyssea, I want to see a ToAU-like expansion with actual new content.

Thank you kindly sir. Next question: How hard is it to upgrade this bad boy? Cause I would be awfully pissed if I had an Aegis and this was fairly easy to get. Although I think SE has ubber plans for relic peeps a 99.

Think of mnks like sport fans. Their team sucked for 5 years, and now they are in the spotlight and the fans are livin it up like they are the best in the world.

MNK has always been top tier really. The better analogy would be NIN or DRG.

DRG rocked colibri, wasnt great on end game but it had its use in exp. The only thing mnk was good for was salvage. Any exp worth anything wouldnt have a mnk in it. All they were good for in anything but salvage was a chi blast every 5 min.

EXP means next to nothing really. Anything that lived longer than thirty seconds was where you'd want a MNK, and I really wouldn't call the event everyone focused on for two years "the only thing" it was good at.
