Regular Xp Pt's Totally Dead?

Sorry to bring this discussion back up again but I have a question. I've been playing ff11 since the launch date back in the day. I left FF completely a year+ ago. I decided to visit the world once more last October 2010.

I told myself... OK! Let's have a new, fresh start and begin a new with a new character and new friends! (which I did and soloed my way to level 12 as WHM) Remember, starting from scratch = no money = no LS = no friends. The problem back in October was that there were no other players around to level nor talk to! Made it extremely difficult to level the job and I eventually quit after 2 weeks.

Are all servers still in this state due to the expansions? Has SE made it impossible for any new people from playing?

Having all the expansions out at this point. Have these lonesome classic areas increased in their population to be able to level with at least a few people looking for parties as well?

Nothing has changed with the latest cap increase/Abyssea that would encourage players to go back to very low level content for any length of time.

Other than the job emotes, which are for level 30+, basically everything they've added is for high level.

I see people floating around my server low level(not sure if it's just subs or what), at 20+, but yeah. pretty much can't do as much unless you are 30+ like before lol.

maybe find someone that'll help you out that isn't right at your level?
might find someone who hasn't sold their soul to abyssea that'd level a sub with ya :D

i havent seen a regular xp party on gilgamesh since summer lol, made a chad on asura to get away from gilga for awhile and seemed alot more active, people actually leveling up in the dunes. Think i was seeking pt for about 40mins before i got an invite. Gilgamesh is all about leeching

I usually see around 10 and under in dunes for the most part when it comes to low lvl xp parties.
SE wants you to solo!!!!

lol i wish old xp parties would come back, id really like to finish my rng job and soloing subs gets boring :S but doubt thats going to happen, and id rather not be a leech

just gotta make friends for help with that. :D
or go the specialist route and /forget about leveling subs.
I'd do that with Ranger...at least you have it leveled enough that you can always use it as a sub.

i mmean yeah im not too worried about skills capped archey @ 90nin and marksmanships capped @ cor90 i just find it funner to actually play my job while lvling it instead of leeching and opening bawxes :S i was so ready for colibri parties on rng XD

I've actually xp'd a lot lately in low lvl parties... in fact, I'm pt'n in the dunes right now.. i've been back for about 3 weeks now and haven't had any trouble finding a low lvl pt on Titan at all.. now finding low lvl gear.. that's a whole other issue.. >.>;

He's right though xD There's absolutely no point in trying out/starting fresh in this game unless you know people already who will help you.

I may have a 14 avatar but... crafting was the last thing i did in 11 and for 14, it is nothing but that. (unless that changes with the coming updates)

It does warm my heart to go into Crawler's nest, Garlaige Citadel, the dunes, and Qufim island and see XP parties. Gives me hope that FFXI isn't dead. Once the new blood stops, FFXI will be no more.

I have been leveling some subs lately, and found it incredibly easy and fun, really brings back some old memories ....

Yeah Someone must have bitched enough to get our flag lol. Its in the list now, Under Saudi arabi or something

Even with the change in yielded xp, on quetz at least I am seeing tons of shouts now just for smn burns all over again..seems people decided rather than xp the old fashioned way again, you just gotta leech in korroloka 10-30, then abyssea leech 30-90...
