Time travel
okay so cousin is into the whole fiction things and the subject he loves more is time travel. He explines to me how it would work he even gave me a website of John titor (I looked thru the website read it sounds fake to me but meh). My thoughts on it are sure maybe it can be done but I wont live Long enought to see it happen. My question is what are you're thoughts on it do think it can be done? Do you think time travelers are among us? What could be the point of it honest from what I read if we do go back in time to change the past, we aren't really changing our timeline we are just creating a new one. Or I don't know what are you're thoughts guys and girls
How about linking the website for us so we can read and discuss.
time traveling already exists but not in the literal terms.
your best tool for time travel is your pillow. altering your perceptions of time allows you to essentially perceive that you have "moved through time" so to speak. It's http://www.johntitor.com/
In my opinion, in some unfathomable period in the future in the hands of whatever life form exist, time travel will be exist.
It's just a matter of... /puts shades on. ...time. yehhh. My opinion is, if time travel ever existed, someone would have traveled back and already gave it to us so we would have it now.
If it were possible, to say, go back in time, to say the mid 1950's, and you asked ANYONE there, if they thought man would ever walk on the moon, do you suppose you'd find 1 person that thought we would? not likely, yet most that you would have talked to would have lived long enough to witness it. Technology changes so fast, it's unfathomable what we may be capable of in just 1 more generation. Remember, for thousands of years, literally, our primary source of transportation was a horse. then, virtually overnight, we're driving exotic sports cars and crossing oceans in a matter of a few hours.... Anything, everything, is possible, imo

Wasn't there that comic strip with the raptor or something that said if you time travelled you'd end up in the middle of space because of the planets moving.

Do not be so sure of our limited intellectual capacity, as humans in our current evolutionary state we do not have the faculties to comprehend such a technology, I believe even the greatest minds in the world are infintely underdeveloped to understand such a concept. I like to dream stuff up like this too, and the conclusion I came to awhile back is that for time travel to the past to be real, it would mean we have fixed destinies, that we exist without free will, that everything around us is playing out like a giant DVD...
It's hard to explain/articulate, but say you went back in the past to change something that happened in your life, if your future self went back in time to a period before your present self to change something that happened to your past self, then your present self never would have experienced that event as your past self and neither would your future self, so your future self would of had no reason to go back and do it in the first place. For time travel into the past to work, every last thing in the Universe needs to be set in stone, you can go back in the past and think you're changing something, but in reality those actions were already set to happen and you're merely playing them out. There is another way around it, but it's not time travel in the sense most people think of it.. It's string theory, and in particular a Multi-verse, instead of there being one Universe, there are an infinite amount of Universes, some completely different from what we've experienced in this one, some with only the most minute changes, in one you were never born, but your brothers and sisters were, your parents met in the exact same way, at the same exact time, got married the same, everything is the exact same except you never existed. With this Multi-verse instead of going back in time to change a certain event, you're simply jumping to a universe where that event never happened. Anyways, those are just my views, how I've come to see things. I'm not saying they're facts, just my opinions. Time travel into the future is entirely possible, you just have to go fast enough.. We already have time travelers on Earth, they just haven't gone very far into the future, a very small fraction of a second or so. If you could ramp up the speed to near light speed and fly around the Universe for a year and then come back, you might come back to find what was one year for you, was actually 10 for everyone else on Earth, in that sense, you've effectively skipped 9 years and jumped into the future. Time travel does exist you can go foward in time by going faster than the speed of light every thing slows down for u and is still going normal speed for ery 1 else so u would age slower while every 1 grows older. going back in time is as of now is still impossible

As far as our understanding of physics takes us, the only way to time travel would be to break the speed of light. Being matter, that is impossible as we can approach 99.9999% of the speed of light, but we can never achieve it. By the end of it they pretty much came to the conclusion that if the technology ever existed, we could have people live a few hundred years and to them it would only age them a few months. This is the closest to 'time travel' we could achieve. Good show, covers a lot of the 'unfathomable' concepts of science. EDIT: Ya Bart, him. And I ninja edited after finding the show. the problem with time travel is the Butterfly effect. there has been just as much litature interacting with anyhting in the past casues ripples that travel thro time. even if you travel in the future your affecting someone else past. example
lets say its the year 2000. and you travel in the future to 2020. yea your in your future but your also in the year 2021 past so you technally traved backwards in time to them. now back to the year 2020 you stop a person from doing something as simple as crossing the street. talking to someone else. you make a comment that changes someoen elses mind. that chain of events could dramatically change the future. thers a few books on the subject as well as movies. one is the sound of thunder. how going back tothe past and simply stepping on a butterfly. changed the entire world. I saw a show explaining how traveling into the future was theoretically possible by Hawking. It was in layman's terms, and the concept that time can be different because gravity 'drags' on it still blows my mind. But it was saying how if it were possible to orbit a black hole for a while, where time would 'drag' considerably due to the gravity, you could let the universe pass you by so to speak due to the time difference. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone, I'm not sure how to explain it. But it was something like orbiting a black hole for 5 years would be the same as 10 years everywhere else.
Nothing like in the science fiction novels. My Galka time travels all the time. Retrace or going through a cavernous maw is how you do it.
I started writing this post at 18:15:10, it is now 18:17:55, dear god I've travelled in time by 2 minutes.
We're all constantly travelling through time to a future time ahead of us, it's just whether we can create the technology to either suspend an existential plane, or travel faster than light that would allow us to travel significant distances into the future. As far as travelling into the past goes, Stephen Hawking created a very simple method of explaining how it is impossible, through the idea of a time traveller shooting himself, therefore preventing himself from ever time travelling, paradox etc... Multi-verse, well, that epic show has already had a mention, and personally, I love the idea. Some massively dense objects(like a black hole) are so dense that light is unable to escape within a certain distance of its gravitation force. While orbiting one of these objects, time speeds in comparison to the rest of the universe. Or rather, time "slows" down in the sense that a few astronauts orbiting the black hole could fast forward themselves into the future.
