abyssea can basically be summarized as even with the removal of the level cap, their players still sucked so bad that they couldnt beat the cop questline, so now we gotta do their work for them.

How much spoiler do you want? I believe there was a crucial point in the CoP storyline where abyssea/present day diverged. Let's just say the abyssea world is feeling the full effects of that divergence.
