If You're A Guy, Why Do You Play As A Girl?

Well I just use the '>.>' look. Is usually a conversation killer

because of my diction and courtesy level. When i played EQ, people thought i was a girl because of the language that i used and because i wasnt a total ***. so i just decided to make a female character and only bring the subject up if someone was being amorous, at which point i would tell them "Suprise, I have a penis"

also i made my girlfriend (now wife) make a male character so that we could get married, then SE did the whole marriage lottery and then *** over the marriage system, so it never mattered.

I can never understand why SE did that marrage lottery system >.>

I've never played a female character, but my brother who plays refuses to be male. He plays mithra. I have to say, most people start with their race before knowing anything about the game. When we went through character introductions, he saw the Mithra being a sex-toy. Doing all the cartwheels, with the bad stripper music(Ok, most of the female intros had that anyway), and he was Mithra for life. I really don't buy the "if I'm gonna stare at an *** all day" excuse, because even if you're not taru, the camera focuses on your shoulders and up. That is the center point of the screen. I never see my *** unless I change the camera angle. In the end it seems that the answer is as simple as you'd think it is: personal preference.

Guys who play as female characters? I don't know, the only excuse I've heard is the "nice ***" one. But it's not like it matters...

years of playing ffxi i found that most real girls on this game play hume f or taru and lastly elvaan f , not mithra.

Yeah most of the mithras I knew were men and they were very obviously men too. If I ever wasn't sure I just asked.

Well my hubby who I ment IG told me he plays a female charater because he didn't want to look at a guy for however long he was going to be playing the game.

I play a female hume because I wanted to play a hume and could not make a male one which I actually liked. Years later and I think i'm happier with the female hume choice. :)

i wish their was just both sexes of each race, problem solved XD

Playing as a female char gets you free stuff and more attention. Just look at the females on this forum and you can see that girls get more attention.

I've read through this thread, and it seems the overwhelming reason guys play female characters is to look at the boobs and ***. I think, if the reason you're playing a female char is to look at PIXEL boobs and ***, perhaps you should put the game down, go outside and get a woman that has REAL boobs and ***.

Not old! As far as I've seen, Hume F/Mithra are popular characters for women with Taru F next. Barely see any of the others. Most girls I know (and I agree with them) don't think Elvaan females look very feminine and Hume Fs are kind of ordinary, whereas Mithra are exotic/exciting.

I am a guy. XI was my first MMO, and I bought it because it was Final Fantasy, not because it was an MMO. I thought I would be able to just play the game by myself, like I would any other game. I made a female character, because that is what looked the best to me. It never really occurred to me that I would end up playing with other people, or that I would get involved in the social aspect at all, so I didn't give it a second thought at the time. I didn't realize that people would view the character as a representation of me.

I model my created characters after existing characters, I guess I am not really very creative, so if I was to make a male character, it would have been Cloud, or Crono, or some such thing, and I had the presence of mind to realize that walking around as a cloud or crono would make me look like a tool, so I used Nina from Breath of Fire 2.

If you are a guy, why do you always make threads like this when you already know the answers?

i know 6 or 7 mithra that in real life are girls and i know them in person or talk to by phone or skype.

I started the game out as Elv M, and then when i got married i made a mithra char. for my wife, but she never played so i started playing it instead.... and down the road had put moer time and money into it than my original char. so i kept going with it
