Body seals actually look a little harder to get than body +2 items, which doesn't really make sense to me. Plenty of Ardor crap drops off free-spawning NMs (like Indirk).

It is not. I did the drk hand seal quest, took me 110 times to get all 8 seals. ended with 12 BLM, 8 DRK, 7 SMN, 6 BLU. the only job i dont have leveled is blm.

I've only had time to run Let There Be Light twice, but both times landed me a seal (SCH body and SMN body). Seems like a better drop rate to me!

No idea, im not a pro on the solo'ing mages do.
But i would have to say not likely.

I think it can be duo'd by a skilled tank + whm. Me and the blm were only there for proc'ing yellow

so no real need for shadows?

I honestly don't know, because his hits all got absorbed by shadows or missed. He's a T2 NM so I'd imagine he can hit you with a mission. (Not like Rani though, who hit me for 150 through a fully charged Fan Dance)

Sulfurous Breath is absorbed by shadows.
I don't know what it does otherwise.

I don't know why you'd want to be anything but /NIN, because if you're going to do the NM multiple times, you'll need to kill Ansherekh. It also opens up a lot of other options of things you can kill in the zone. I don't think there's really a better sub for Low-man tanking NMs on DNC than /NIN.

The hardest thing about this NM is getting a popset, it's annoying and Ansherekh has a terrible drop rate on the Tiger King Hide.

I would not recommend attempting without THF + BLM, because of the difficulty of getting a popset, you want a good chance at Grellow and maximized droprates.

(The NM drops BLM body seals so it should not be hard to get a BLM to come. If you need to lure a THF, offer to kill Bennu for their +2 items in the same run. )

I tore up Altepa yesterday, with a setup of DNC/NIN THF/NIN RDM/SCH WHM/SCH BLM/NIN.

Benefits of this setup:

***DNC can tank just about any NM in the zone not named Ironclad Smiter, Rani, Cuijatender, or Emperador de Altepa. I dont' know anything about Orthrus. Maybe.
**The RDM and BLM/NIN however, can duo Smiter, so whatever at least on that.
**Most triggers are present: Black Magic, White Magic, and Ninjutsu. Missing BLU and BRD.
***THF can serve as backup tank on Hedjedjet if you fail to run away from Hell Scissors in time.
***DNC solo tank provides slow TP gain for the enemy using VV/RR/GH atmas, and damages steadily allowing for plenty of time to get grellow triggers in.

i'll keep that in mind. i was wondering about shadows because i've grown accustomed to blood tanking solo /war using VV RR impregnable tower. many of the new NMs in the new zones can be solo'd dnc/war and i know Ovni can be solo'd /war as well (even more to the lulz i ended up being the main heal, tank and everything for ovni the other day and still didnt have any issue at all)

defender + fan dance is kinda broken, it a taco if it gets to be to much and call it a day. not having to worry about shadows and a million things such as silence slow and elegy that makes /nin painful speeds up the process by alot.

I pretty much always carry a mage in my pocket just because it's more efficient so I go /NIN to make it easier on them and focus on killing while minimizing the damage I take.

I... don't like getting hit :P
