The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I just had a dragon battle too, but I was lucky because it happened near an outpost. Loads of guards to grab its attention while I rained down arrows on it. Those battles are so sweet.

No "Score" but that's not what's important. -The Good- » Immense world stuffed with varied tasks to perform » Dragon battles are a blast » Lovely art design capped by some beautiful, atmospheric touches » Enjoyable battles that you can approach in a variety of ways » Lots of compelling, self-contained stories to experience in addition to the main one. -The Bad- » Glitches and bugs frequently disrupt the immersion » Friendly AI is often more of a hindrance than a help. Gamespot, Destructoid, IGN, Game Informer should all be making their official reviews Live at 5:01AM Pacific. Of those, I'd really only count Destructoid and Game Informer. Yeah, I prefer not to take any companions with me, tbh. Sylph.Beelshamen said: » Odin.Zicdeh said: » Gamespot leaked their review early and subsequently removed it. Yeah, I prefer not to take any companions with me, tbh. I ended up accidentally killing my companion, lol, so for the most part i go alone. But its really annoying when your quest requires you to bring along a npc to fight alongside you, or escort quests.... Another bug i encountered, is a delivery quest. Not gonna reveal too many details so i doint spoil stuff. But i have this delivery quest to the same place the main quest has its destination. And when i arrive, the npc only talks about the main quest, and nothing about the delivery quest. Leaving me with this supplies quest item in my inventory forever i guess... lol. Not as annoying as the chief bandit quest glitch i encountered, but still.... I'm a completionist, and it's frustrating, lol. I've done about 15 quests now, and haven't encountered a single bug, tbh.(PS3) About the chief bandit; sounds really bothersome but I try to talk to everyone in a settlement instead of going out to do a quest right after I pick it up. That way you might prevent these things from happening, not to say it's your bad that it happened, but it's a playstyle that saves a lot of trouble too. No needless backtracking.

Yea, i try to do that as well. But i think i killed him while doing a different quest for a npc in Riverwood really early in the game. And then a few hours of gameplay later, i get the quest to kill him, but this time from a npc in Whiterun. Both quests shared almost the exact same geographical position. I'm just glad i found a way to work around it tho. Moar review.
PCWorld gives Skyrim a Perfect 100% I now have an erection I don't anticipate will subside for at least 20 hours. Poor Zicdeh. Move to EU we always get games 2-3 days earlier.

I'm just glad it's being praised, Bethesda deserves it, faults and all, and it means that The Elder Scrolls VI: Alinor will be even better and is virtually guaranteed unless some calamity befalls the studio (IE: Getting sold to EA or Activision). That is to say nothing about an impending Fallout 4. Came in post this morning :O
OHGODOHGODOHGODONLY16MOREHOURS
Getting lots of 10's. (Inc adjusted 5/5's)
Harshest I've seen so far (Body of the review) is GTTV. 9.3. It's got some 9's floating around, but they can be disregarded because they fish a "Con" out of things like "No Deathmatch". Uh, moral decisions in Skyrim. No way to know which side is telling the truth. -_-
Unless there's another epic DevDiary today, I'll probably go on media blackout. I already saw a few too many spoilers in reviews. I really wanted to go into the game not knowing what Ebony and Glass armor looked like.
I still don't know what ebony and glass armor look like! :D
Nor if there's any Daedric armor. Back in June I put in my vacation time for today and tomorrow, my boss asked me what I was doing with my vacation. I told him I'm going to Skyrim. He said it sounded like a nice place.

Granted, I only saw the Ebony Cuirass and Glass Helmet, but they kind of give away the rest of the set's aesthetic. Just so you know, they were *** gorgeous. Someone in my class this morning was saying it as like skeer-im or some weird crap. Like if you slurred "Scare em" with a stupid accent.

As in the Rim of the Sky (How it gets its name, being the northern most province of Tamriel) I've heard worse though... Deus Ex was butchered, my best friend says "Doos-Us Ex", in spite of (or maybe because of by now) my corrections! The second game, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall still holds the throne as the largest game world, measuring some 500,000+ Square Kilometers in area. (Real Area) I wouldn't expect a full-continent game unless it's an MMO anymore. It would be too difficult to fully realize the scope of culture, despite all of the lore they have to draw on. The Next Elder Scrolls chapter will likely take place in the Altmer's homeland of Summerset Isle. I just have a hunch. Since "Summerset Isle" doesn't flow off the tongue very well, I'm assuming they'd name such a game after the capital city of Alinor. Phoenix.Lillicarnage said: » is it SKY-rim? I'm really excited for this game, I haven't had a chance to play the other Elder Scrolls, but I've been following this one(reviews etc) for a few months now and it looks amazing. O:
I took Friday off of work so I could play it all day, but couldn't take off more days. ; ; Hoping I can find a way to get someone to bring me to the midnight release, I'll ride my bike if I have too. Unprecedented amounts of butthurt from CodMW3 fans on IGN forums. I guess the notion that any game released after MW3 could be better overall is impossible.
As stupid as it may sound, I think the lore, world, races, etc could fit an MMORPG makeup perfectly. I think if they got some actual MMO-knowledgeable people in Bethesda to work with the core creators on an MMO, and not fall into the rut of "WoW has lots of people playing it, let's just make that game but with Elder Scrolls on it", it could potentially be amazing.
That's asking for a lot out of a developer. I know. But if there's any worlds that I'd like to see in MMO form, it's Nirn. There's even room for expansion into continents like Akavir. Mass Effect and Dragon Age worlds would also be great for MMOs. |
