The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I did a mage Aragonian game and managed to get all magic/enhancing to 100. Then I started a "Paladin" Aragonian (Shield/One Handed/Heavy Armor/Alteration/Healing) and the game saved over my mage file... ~.~ Suppose I should be glad that it wasn't my main file, but still. PS3 Skyrim has so many *** problems D: Tempted to buy a PC version of the game... But I'd want to be able to access my main file on the PC ~.~
I finally gave in and decided to set up mods on the laptop so I can get back into skyrim. Made the mistake of starting the download for the high res texture pack forgetting how big it is, and now I cant cancel it.
F U steam making me wait 4 hours to play while I have to download something im not gonna end up using >_< Bahamut.Mizuharu said: » I did a mage Aragonian game and managed to get all magic/enhancing to 100. Autosave would constantly overwrite the wrong files and delete my precious characters I had saved before. Best to turn off auto-save and tie a piece of string on your thumb to remind you to save constantly. On a side note, is it me or are there many more hair options in the character creation now that 1.5 is out? Okay so with the new patch adjusting the skill up rate based on the type of weapon & armor materials you use for smithing, is it still the most practical and efficient (in terms of time and cost) to spam iron daggers, or are there better means to spam your way to 100 smithing now, post patch?

I am glad there is extra content. Just may have to take the game up again!!
Can't wait for DLC for Skyrim tbh. Bethesda does DLC rather well, usually not this late after release, but well nonetheless.

I will be happy to take it!!

I'm really really hoping for new loot, but I don't think we'll get it sadly. It'll probably be a really nice expansion with some sweet places to visit and some new enemies. It still makes me sad how awesome Skyrim is and they decided the best loot in the game should come from blacksmith + enchanting. If they would have had a random loot system like in Diablo or Borderlands then let you enchance it with enchanting/blacksmithing I think it would have been perfect. If I read the info about the smithing/enchanting patch correctly, the rate of which you skill up is based on the value of the item you are crafting. For skilling up smithing, making solely Iron Daggers will provide minimal skill ups (since I think they value for like 7ish.) However, I just spam Iron Daggers, then enchant them for Smithing and Enchanting skill ups. Absorb HP ones normally get me like ~400 value with grand souls. Your smithing skill may not shoot up as fast as you'd like (unless you have Well Rested/Warrior stone,) but crafting items/gear, then enchanting them with which ever enchantment you'd like will definitively allow you to just buy all of the crafting materials. Make sure you craft and enchant jewelry so you can sell that that to the Jarl's court mage for soul gems. So really... 1) Craft 2) Enchant 3) ???? 4) Profit Side note; The Elder Scrolls: MMO possibility? 100s of hours into the game, and I finally learn that I can Fus Ro Dah (or just Fus) flies out of the air, and fish out of the water. Makes catching the lil *** a little easier, that's for sure.

Coming Summer 2012. Only thing to really note about the teaser is, Dovahkiin has a quiver for the first time in PR materials. Which lends quite a bit of credit to the rumors that Crossbows are going to be featured in Dawnguard. (Further backed up by Data sifters finding Animation tags for Crossbows as well, snuck in with Patch 1.5. Also worth noting that it's a timed exclusive. Xbox360 will have it well before PC and PS3 users. C'mon Bethesda, didn't doing this with New Vegas and getting amazing amounts of fan backlash teach you anything?
I hope they implement arrow crafting so console goers can have their cake and eat it too.
Also as far as the quiver denoting crossbows... maybe. But bolts usually do not have fletchings.

Elder Scrolls MMO Announced!
*** called it. Asura.Revelation said: » Elder Scrolls MMO Announced! *** called it. I'm getting all sorts of weird bugs with Archery all of a sudden.
Like fully drawn pulls launching the arrow only a few feet in front of me as if I clicked the button instead of holding it. Slow-mo kill animations for missing my target >______> Anyone else having issues like this? I've had a few magic kill animations for a spell that misses. The only instance i've seen of the bow draw thing you're getting is when I tried to edit a bow with "burst fire" ticked in the creation kit (Which was left over from the fallout GECK.)

The slow mo thing only happened once, but it seems to trigger for kill shots the most, so it's not that troublesome. But I think the bow misfire was something triggered from loading a saved game. Everything is working correctly now after intentionally firing that first shot after loading. Artemicion said: » I'm getting all sorts of weird bugs with Archery all of a sudden. Slow-mo kill animations for missing my target >______> Anyone else having issues like this? Lots of people are, it's a fairly vocal complaint on the forums. Oddly, this happened to me a lot in VATS for New Vegas as well. As for the Elder Scrolls MMO, I'm... not optimistic. I hope it's good, but considering that The Old Republic couldn't tackle WoW, and the Star Wars fanbase is arguably ten times more zealous than non-Korean Warcraft fans, I really expected TOR to do a lot better than it did. Then again, Skyrim taught me one thing. If you want to beat super-popular copy-pasta games (Call of Duty), your best bet isn't to be said game, but be something entirely different. A lesson Battlefield held as antithesis to it's approach, and it suffered horribly. Bismarck.Cicada said: » Asura.Revelation said: » Elder Scrolls MMO Announced! *** called it. Do people not understand Publisher/developer differences yet? Elder Scrolls online isn't being developed by the same studio that is so charmingly infamous for leaving tons of bugs in their game. It's a totally different studio. It's the same deal as what happened with TOR and KOTOR. Bioware Austin is not Bioware Edmonton. I've been getting weird archery bugs where Paralyze will proc but no damage will be dealt >.> They'll fall over and I'll have to shoot them again so they die :| (not a huge deal, I have like 6000 arrows but kind of annoying)
The screenshots are painful to look at for The Elder Scrolls MMO. WoW's bulbous and oversaturated character design seems to be invading every MMO regardless of IP lately.
Still, it may not all be bad. At least the creative director seems to have his head on straight. Odin.Zicdeh said: » The screenshots are painful to look at for The Elder Scrolls MMO. Well how many games featured Assassins skulking around on rooftops before AC though? Honestly, I can't think of one, then again I just recently became a fan of the more finesse genre games. The Interview: Elder Scrolls Online
Thus far, my only beef is the WoW rendering. It would have been much cooler to be Skyrim or FFXIV character and world modelling. Would it be much steeper barriers for people to play it legitimately? Yes. Do I care? No. I bought an M14X for a reason ; ) I for one don't really like the idea of turning The Elder Scrolls to the MMO genre. I feel it would kinda degrade the level of attention to detail in terms of lore and how immersible the experience will be, as single player elements often aren't conducive to those necessary to perpetuate a massive and consistent user base paying month after month for your game. Ultimately, I think an MMO and the genre itself would be counter intuitive to the essence of what The Elder Scrolls has represented and continues to do so to this day.
Finally did the war thing, picked Imperials. Now when I get caught committing any crime where there are Imperial Guards they go bananas and kill everyone in town and completely ignore me. This happen to anyone else?
So I've been meaning to ask:
What are these strange symbols I see embedded in wood or stone near people's houses? Or have I not gotten far enough to realize it's part of a questline or something of the like? |
