Wikileaks and Anonymous

Somebody had a great idea can't remember where i read it though..
basically suggest wikileaks will end up like napster when napster finally got shut down it was because they had centralized servers. Then came gnutella and everybody shared in the hosting or w/e Basically shutting down napster created gnutella which was much harder to control than napster. When all the governments finally end up shutting down wikileaks for its "illegal activities" their problems wont go away. I'm sure some of the brain-child computer dudes out there will make a new website that is decentralized and there will be even less ability for governments to control what is released. Pretty impartial, don't really care what happens to PayPal because I don't believe in their stated rationale for what they did to Wikileaks. Every US-based company is dropping any affiliation with Wikileaks under pressure from the government and I am against that. They're stifling the free principles of the internet.
Whether or not you agree with what Wikileaks does, we can all agree we don't want internet censorship because governments can't contain their own secrets. I'm going to be in the gravy-boat who counter trolls these trolls, I will do nothing for this guy. What will happen=people will jump all over this and it'll become the second coming of the whole scientology campaign. I'm just going to skip ahead and start hating these *** who claim to be "anon", but are trying to do something they see as "good", never agreed with it being all about that. too much organization, not enough anarchy for that. I will dissent the dissenters as I always have. Ramuh.Vinvv said: Bismarck.Dracondria said: Fenrir.Stiklelf said: "and doesn't afraid" stopped reading at that point. It's intentional. Paypal is an american company.. they froze wikileaks money, and i'm pretty sure handed it over to the american government.. who seized it for illegal activities. Not doing anything = accomplishment in defiance? essentially. people became posessed to make "anonymous" some political group, I don't agree with that. If it's about tormenting people with pixels I'm fine, but I just don't agree with the methodology and hypocrisy of associating yourself with anon past doing it just to "be cool/edgy" whatever. It's not humorous, and that's the only reason I supported it. It's not really a accomplishment of defiance. It's an accomplishment of anti-defiance. little brother dissents against big brother, i dissent against little brother. not because i like big brother, more because I don't like little brother. I still support the goal of Wikileaks if not their methods. Offline

Didn't want someone to come in here and say I linked a spun version of the story xD Ramuh.Vinvv said: yes. essentially. people became posessed to make "anonymous" some political group, I don't agree with that. You're a unique little snowflake. I'm not really. I just don't agree with it, I've been like this for years, I know people who are the same way so I don't really do it to be "unique", I do it because the current values contradict my own. this ***isn't for the lols. and that was what i was vested in back in the day, humor. not funny ***that needs to be made funny, by castrating attention *** who dub themselves "anonymous" I love how easily you can use the whole snowflake line though :D. I'm more of a lone wolf than frozen ice big guy. Yeah, anon has for years been divided between newfags and oldfags, the wannabes and the hardcore. But ultimately what separate them are raids and intense political courses of action online; like this.

Artemicion said: Yeah, anon has for years been divided between newfags and oldfags, the wannabes and the hardcore. But ultimately what separate them are raids and intense political courses of action online; like this. don't you mean attention-whoring? it has been divided before 4chan/anon even existed. it's just the fact that the ones who weren't in on the whole 4chan/anon deal way back when are in it now. That's the biggest difference. The Habbo Raids had a lot more heart and soul than this shyte. "anon" says this "anon" says that. when it's really [persons name says this], [persons name says that],it's not anon in the least because people want to be friends and ***. counter-culture always gradually becomes mainstream, and then you'll have the ones who notices that and become the counter-culture of the counter-culture, becoming the new counter-culture. it's a vicious cycle that repeats itself all the time man. Ramuh.Vinvv said: The Habbo Raids had a lot more heart and soul than this shyte. Wat? Harassing tweens in a chat interface is more meaningful than attacking associations that defy your political views and beliefs? Remember, political groups are collections of people with a view. They technically are one. True, the more attention you bring to yourself as a counter-culture, the more counter-productive and contrary to purpose you become.
Ironically, remaining underground undermines one's ability to actually pull off large scale courses of influence. It's a double edged sword for either way. |
